What some people do not understand about this story is that the flags were not found stuffed into bags, they were found nicely stacked and bundled in bags.

Black plastic bags ? Black plastic is often used to protect things from fading.

Especially the color red fades easily.

Hand flag are very likely to be printed with cheaper dyes than the standard full size flag pole flag.

The sad thing about this story is that it is being changed and edited as the days go by. The Denver Post has done a complete white wash of their earlyier article. The dumpster sized bins of flags sat on the loading dock for a week, NO ONE ever came or called to claim the flags. HOWEVER I do not beleive they were meant for the trash. I feel it was an over site and ya know some one was fired over this blunder.

I was not surprised by these stories, as I remember seeing the TV coverage following the convention with the floor littered with flags, evidently people felt once the convention was over and not televised, they did not keep the flag and just trashed it to the floors. I was amazed when I say the amount on the ground, and wondered what kind of people the Democrats are to trash the flags at that time. Then when I read the comment on Drudgerepot and the news I knew I was not just seeing things.

I was at Invesco for Obama's speech, I cannot speak to all of these flags, but we stayed after the speech was over and my cousin and I (he supports Obama, I do not) picked up at least 25 from under seats where people just discarded them. I am not saying this is an indictment of Obama himself, all I know is that 25 of his supporters in our section alone left their flags behind like empty cups and trash. More of a indictment of the attendees than Obama himself.

According to the story on foxnews, the vendor stated that trash bags full of flags were found in and near garbage bins. That certainly doesn't sound like they were planning to reuse them.
