@MeganS64 Dave just wanted to make an album with all the musicians he looked up to. He wrote all of the instrument parts and performed most of them. The singers just wrote the lyrics for whatever song they were on.
If you were nt in the 80's then you are not going to appreciate these artists for what they are. They were legends and iloved them all. Well done to dave for getting them together again.
@wightangel You don't need to be from the 80's to know and appreciate Metal legends.. You just have to like Metal. Bands like Celtic Frost, Voivod, Venom, Motorhead, etc. etc. still remain awesome regardless of what generation you're born into, as long as you enjoy real Metal music.
Say all u want about this album and/or Grohl....plain and simple : THIS SONG IS FUCKING AWESOME!!...it has excellent tone and superb attitude driven by a killer riff and a driving pace.....when u listen to more hard rock and metal u will agree in 5 years. If you're a musician u are already aware of the songs quality
~Hey at least Grohl is exposing new kids to this type of music what the hell are these nu metal fags doing besides hanging out at the homo store! This whole album rocks~
...gtfo, n00b. It's a Black Sabbath/stoner metal ripoff with tired sounding vocals, boring and repetitive riffs and vocals, and overall a terrible vibe. Just no. If you think this is one of the best metal albums of all time, you can go and actually listen to some metal albums and realise how wrong you are.

So what if it has Tom G Warrior and Lemmy? It's still dull.
PS, favourite albums of all time: City by SYL, Words that go unspoken by Akercocke, Blessed are the Sick by Morbid Angel, Nothing by Meshuggah, This Godless Endeavor by Nevermore. Not too sure where you got the impression that I'm some nu-metal kid from. Believe it or not, I know my shit, and I can tell when an album is soulless drivel like Probot is.
I have to say, this album is overrated but I like it non the less. It's obvious the only reason it's so popular because it's not the usual "up beat/overly-optimistic/semi-rebellious/awkward-romantic" type of stuff Dave Grohl often puts out.
Is it just me, or it sounds like Dave Mustaine?

@MusicianPooper
All it was was just Dave Grohl saying "Fuck it, I wanna write some metal again" and sending out requests to some of his favorite singers.

This song has such an ass-destroying groove. Not extremely heavy, but still pretty effective. How can you say it blows?
