i loved your game - it´s cute, it´s brutal and it has gerbils and physics. the only thing it´s missing is attention as far as i can tell. i hope i can change that a little - uploading the review right now. :-)
@HARVESTERFTW, glad you liked it! A level editor would be fun, its true, but we use an external editor and it would be a lot of effort to move that to the Xbox and make it robust enough for general use. Btw, there is a sequel to Gerbil Physics (probably called Gerbil Physics Episode 2) coming out soon that has lots of more levels, new weapons, and a slightly more "platformy" feel to it.
Hi ledomira, glad you liked the game. Not all levels can be wiped out. When you look at the Levels menu screen if the level number has a faded gold star at the top right then it can be wiped out. If it has no gold star then it us just an ordinary level. Level 3 is just an ordinary level. Were there any other levels you were stuck with?
Thanks. The only level I haven't been able to get wipeout on (that has the star in the corner) is level 4. I just can't seem to get all the blocks past the line with only one bomb, even exploding both of the foliage. I read in the help section that you can get wipeout with fast or frugal use of the items. I was able to lay down all five bombs really quickly and clear all the blocks at once, but it wasn't fast enough to get the wipeout. How do you do it?
Hi, yes unfortunately there is a bit of luck involved on this level which I'd like to tweak so luck isnt required.
"Fast" means you have 1.3 seconds to deploy enough bombs to clear the level. "Frugal" means you use only one bomb which clearly doesnt apply here.
To get the wipeout on level 4 then, just keep laying all 5 bombs in a horizontal row a little below the red line. The row should kind of span the middle pyramid.
Eventually you'll get a wipeout. I'll see if I can make a video of it.
@BeringelaXNA I've played throught the game again with your advice and gotten wipeouts on all but four levels. I think I even got wipeouts on some levels that I wasn't even supposed to be able to get them. The only levels I haven't gotten them on are: 13, 15, 20, and 22. I think it might still be possible to do it on 13.
Thanks for the info ledomira, this is going to take some investigation on my part to find out why wipeouts are available even when they shouldn't be! Sounds like a fault. I appreciate the feedback, thanks again.
It might be a fault, but it was a pleasant fault. It felt awesome to see the little display that says I got all of the wipeouts, and then to get a few more even when I wasn't supposed to be able to. Ultimately though, I don't think it's a fault because I was able to get wipeout on those levels and the game recognized that I performed the necessary actions to get wipeouts and acted accordingly. In fact, if I did what was necessary to get wipeouts and I didn't get them, I would be upset.
Lol, yes you are right. Of course it is more fun to actually get the wipeouts rather than have them taken away. Thanks ledomira, I'll look at how to better allow wipeouts for more or all levels.
Gosh, this game reminds me of another one I've played... identical gameplay. Don't remember what it was called, though. >.<

I have this game, and it's great. I only wish a level creator was available. That would make it even better.

Just bought this. Good art cover, cute character, great usage of colors, and nice simple music. Not to mention a simple & fun game. Keep it up!

Great art, the game looks cool, just need some more visual FX to give some flavour.
