  • just curious, why wouldnt you make this out of metal? there are many metals out there that would last 100x longer than wood.

  • Thanks for your full reply xacharon.

  • Hello

Very interesting. I'm toying with the idea of buying a foliot wall clock kit but with the 2 hands. There appear to be precious fiew suppliers of these kits though.

In the 70s, I was given a Meccano clock kit that was pendulum and weight controlled and it never worked. Then I bought, via auction, the same clock it and got help with it too and it never seemed to work either.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @glisses7 I have a verge-and-foliot clock, too, that I built from a kit and it works pretty well. Do a Google search on "puzzle clock joe" and you should find the guy I bought it from. There seem to be a couple of resellers, too. I can't really vouch for any of them, though I didn't have any problems from the one I bought it from (I don't remember which one exactly, sorry).

  • Wonderful clock, xacharon. Many thanks for not adding music to this vid.

  • I am thinking about buying this kit and I was wondering. Is the weight included in the kit?

  • @Connor1197 Hello! You have to provide your own weight material. The instructions recommend lead shot and pennies. In my case, I just used a bunch of ball bearings.
