you srew the pen from your tripod(for example)in that little hole.....(to attach it so)

A tripod mount is a little hole which you use to mount the flashgun onto a tripod. Just like the hole on your camera...

A tripod mount is where you mount your tripod. Some telelenses uses tripod-mounts to get a better balance when mounting your camera to the tripod...
