HAHAHAAA who is that hitler pianist ? hahaaa oh my god, this song just popped into my head out of NOWHERE after years. I fucking LOVE this song. LOLLL
Gotta defend Eddie Money here... enjoying Sparks, Concrete Blonde and Eddie Money is not mutually exclusive. It's fine if you don't like Money as much... but he is a great guy and his career provided an opportunity for you to see Concrete Blonde. Thanks for posting!
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!
Go to Live365.com, type OFFTHECHARTS in the Search box and click on the station logo. The audio stream should begin. Become a VIP member and listen commercial free!
I could have done without the acid-tinged camera work at the end of the clip. But seeing the band's proto power pop arrangement of Do Re Mi(on German TV no less)was priceless.
WOw.their history is full of surprises.they had hits all over d world. But their sounds and changes. They really always sound like sparks their musical choices. They are one of my true favorits,40 years they been around!!!
I remember seeing them on American Bandstand and thinking they were probably the best thing I had heard on there is a very long time. I immediately went out and bought their debut album. Just sold it a few years ago with about 200 other albums for $50. I guess I can't hold onto everything forever. . .
I think I'm jealous too! I just acquired a SEALED (now no longer sealed) copy of Sparks' debut album from '72 off E-Bay. Not a ding on the thing! Looks like it was just purchased from a record store. These guys were so ahead of the times, making new wave rock in 1971/72! L.A. produces some freaky-deakys all right but I can only imagine people's reaction to Halfnelson/Sparks when they first hit the scene! What were you guys like (in reference to their "crowd")?

I'd have given anything to see the 'original' lineup live!! What a great video!!! I met Ron and Russ....and Earle Mankey several months ago!

The Wonder Girl in the horizontal stripe Snow White suit should be made an honorary member of Sparks.
