i'm sorry to say but this is not the original video of this song - the original is when sweet sensation waiting for the boys to come and play basketball @the basketball court - I remember it when NY HOT TRACKS on Saturday would play it - TRY TO GET THE ORIGINAL VIDEO AND YOU WILL SEE - Love the song - peace
my friends never understood how i could listen to rap and death metal and still pump this 89 pop hooked on you! and STILL TO THIS FUCKING DAY I'LL BOOM THIS IN MY CAR SYSTEM!
It's so nice to find this video. 1988/89 were such good years for dance music. There was the light freestyle of this group, and then there was the heavier pumping sound of Jomanda and Inner City. There were many others as well. Why can't anyone make music like this anymore? If I could I certainly would!
Thanks JonSea31 Those really were good years. There was a UK song called S(ex) Express that was also from 88 that I enjoyed a lot. There were so many others I really can't remember them all.
se pudesse fazer um pedido no momento em que fosse morrer, com certeza seria estar no momento em que ouvi Hooked On You pela primera vez...à 22 anos atrás..obrigado angelsfstyle.
Everyone who's a Sweet Sensation fan needs to go to their My Space page...the lead singer Betty Dee is not doing "too well" according to an e-mail I got through them. Go to the websaite to find out more information, but, they're trying to get more support for her.
Sweet Sensation are a very beautiful talented freestyle dance music group,I like this version best without the rap because it updated the original version, the remix is best cause it has this updated beat and production and this video but adds the rap to it,this is one of the greatest songs in history,Sweet Sensation had a Billboard number one hit in the United States and their freestyle hits were big hits worldwide, this was back when the music industry had real artists making real music.
The original song is better with the rap. The video is very good showing how beautiful they are, not looking like little boys with mullets lol. They should have never changed the lyrics, and this video would have been one of the best freestyle videos of all time.
Two of the three from the original video are in this one--lead singer Betty and the taller of the two background singers, Margie Fernandez. The short one in this video,Sheila Vega, replaced Mari Fernandez from the original video. Today's Sweet Sensation line up is Betty, Sheila and a woman named Jenay.
Oh, nobodys commented on this video. That sucks. I love Sweet Sensation. I mean, I love the Cover Girls more, but Sweet Sensation is a close second to the freestyle girl groups I like.
This song was so hot, it needed to be released twice during the 1980s: in the fall of 1986 and the spring of 1989.

@basherman69 Actually, it was early fall of 1989. Still, kickass song and HOT babes!!
1972franky 1 month ago
@1972franky No, the remake was released in May, 1989. I dug out an old singles tape I made in 1989, and the release date was May, 1989.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I used to call them SLEAZE SLUTTATION, I hated Betty Lebron more than anything. I swore she used to be with Donnie Wahlberg, I am over it now!

While watching this video, they have this beat going when they sing Whoaaa Whoooaa ... It was sooo familiar, but i couldnt put my finger on it.
Once the video ended, it hit me.
Flo Rida feat. Timbaland - Elevator sample that moment/beat a few times. Its a catchy hook.

Funny comment. I listened to Metallica and Anthrax at the same time I was listening to Freestyle. My friends thought I was a freak.

That's how I was, listening to Egyptian Lover and Judas Priest...I was an outcast at school haha. Didn't fit into the cliques.

Yeah, luvumhark. By the time the mid-1990s came around it was nothing but Soundgarden and Nirvana on the radio that caused the demise of dance music.
But the dance music was revived around 2002, and even then it was just Ludacris and Ashanti being played on the radio frequently.

I think these girls kept my faith in dance music in between expose's Lp's. Perky and poppy, I love it!

This version definitely has more pop appeal than the original. The girls are also more dolled up in this video.
LOL, the end is funny when they spray paint over their portraits.
