I have this board, it has this crazy feeling when you widen you stance so that your feet is over the trucks. It's amazing at craving. It get boring though and very unstable.
R.I.P Custom 35. btw original, will you be making any other boards with the same board composition cause I really like it and I prefer it much more over the pintails
Everyone, if you really want a board that will truly take the place of the Custom 35, check out the Flexdex Mantis. Im not tryin to spam and bash Original, but at 36 inches and basically the same shape and construction, this would be a great replacement untill the custom 35 comes back out next year. And to stay true to Original's carving power, put their trucks on the Mantis. Hope this helps anyone. (Go Original!!)
Hey original i was wondering have any of u guys come to Maine , if not u should theres lots of big hills and stuff. but i have a question, if i have a pintail are thoose good for like pretty big hills or no?
@MrBoxerluv a few of us have been up there to ride! Also, the pintail is a good board for carving down hills, and with a heavier tension spring you could handle speeds up to 25 mph. If you're looking to bomb hills and go faster then you may want to take a look at the Freeride boards.
@Originalskateboards I wish I would have known this a long time ago, I trashed my skin on every body part from one fall with the custom 35 because of REALLY BAD speed wobbles. Never going over 40 mph on that deck ever again. It is a great cruiser for sure though. ( Plus my weight, 180, didn't help :] )
@amkistner93 Check out the Original Pintail 40. It has a lot of the same flexy / carvy properties that the Custom 35 used to cover for us. It also comes standard with the same S8 trucks. Differences: A lot cheaper, and a lot lower, it is also wood (not fiberglass). The first two are positives for sure. As far as fiberglass is concerned we found that a most of the performance we need in carving was covered by a flexy wood construction leaving us extra capacity to build Apexes in fiberglass.
I want it :( bring it back.......Just finally when I could afrord one that took it off ;-( That was the board fell in love with :( please bring it back.
@BSAVBFBA you could go with a smaller pintail, either the 37 or 40 for sharper, more aggressive turns, or you could upgrade to the Apex 37 which is great for pumping, carving, tight turns, and can handle freestyle. The Apex 37 also has the carbon reinforcement bar so it will last you years of riding!
Hey original, I want to get into longboarding but I don't know what board to get. I don't have many hills ( if any at all ) so I just want one for cruising (and maybe a few steep hills here and there). If I go on hills with a cruiser, I don't want to start wobbling. I'm 15 and 165 lbs. What would you suggest? I also only have about $200 max to spend. Thanks a ton! Btw I love your guy's videos and really want to see the new 2011 one ;)
@NyGiant123 great cruiser boards that are stable would be our pintails, and the Pintail 43 would be a good size for you. Put some red springs in the trucks and you'll have added stability on hills, but you'll still be able to carve with ease.
@mkmad08 you may want to check out our new Freeride boards that are coming out soon. You can do some freestyle with them, and lots of cruising, sliding, and freeriding.
@mkmad08 the freeride boards are definitely stable. They are lower to the ground and use reverse king pin trucks. They can handle higher speeds. The Apex 34 was not made for high speeds.
hello original, im 12 and weigh 100 pounds. i dont skateboard or longboard but i really want to get into longboarding because the cruising seems really fun? any idea of something right for me?
Im new to longboarding but im really just looking to cruise or free ride would the custom 35 be for me? If not what other original board would be good?
Hello original sorry to boder u but id like to buy a new longboard. I all ready had the derringer and now i have the pintail 37 and its a little to long. I think i buy the custom 35 when it comes out but where i live theirs a lot of flat land and maybe 2 small hills. so what would u recommend me to do if i want to transport myself in the city?
@Mrsafety36 the custom 35's production is put on hold right now and it may not be back until next year sometime. However, the Pintail 37 is a great board for transportation and is only 2 inches longer than the Custom 35. The pintail is also lower to the ground than the 35 so it's much easier to push and is a lot more stable.
will you be making any updates to this board its my favorite board but I've broken 3 of them, I want another one, but, i don't want another one to break.
@ProblemsDownTheLine We will, but right now we have the Freeride (41 and 38) and the Apex 40 as our primary goals. We are working on the Custom 35 but it likely will not be out in time for Christmas this year.

okay, i've been snowboarding since i was eight and am sick of being bored off season so should i buy this board or a malakai? i just bought a rocker board so i dunno if that means anything when buying a longboard because i'm used to either camber or reverse camber. Thanks!
@DIGS179 our custom 35 is currently on hold due to the production of newer boards.. but we do have Malakais! This board is a great carving board and is really flexy.
can u please give us a date for when one of the new boards are coming out? ive been jdieing to see one of them for over 2 months now... and i really cant wait for the custom 35 to come back :D

@Fruppelkungen keep in mind we're a really small, family owned company working as hard as we can to make out customers happy. Right now we are working on three new boards that are coming out within the next few months.. and in order to do this we had to put the custom 35 on hold. Don't worry, it will come back, it's not gone forever.
@Originalskateboards Great to hear that your still making new boards (hope one if them would fit me as good as the custom 35) Don't get me wrong i love your board and your videos but it just seems like I've been waiting for a custom 35 forever. :D
@Fruppelkungen we understand, we love the custom 35 too! We're just trying to get some newer boards out right now so we had to put it on hold for a while.
Hey @TheLittleNate the custom 35 is actually on hold right now due to the manufacturing of newer boards. We do not have a set date on when we are bringing this board back, it may be up to another year or so.
Hey, I'm looking for a longboard which would be great for carving and sliding downhill easily but I'm new to longboarding so I don't know which would be best for me so I'm looking for professional advice. At the video reviews that I've been watching on your website, I would think the custom 35 would be the best for me, but your the expert!
@NvideaMan808 the custom 35's production is put on hold because we're working on coming out with newer boards for the time being. You may want to check out the Torpedo or Malakai. Both of these boards are great at carving and you can definitely slide them out with some harder wheels
@Originalskateboards hi! :) uuum when are guys on stock with this board?! after winter or before?! becuz its my birthday in january 20 and i want this to be my birthday gift!
@theasianjay01 the custom 35's production has been put on hold due to us making newer boards. The custom 35, and 44, should be back next year some time.
I'm looking for a board thats a good shredding deck but at the same time good at cruising. I'm a little torn between a mini longboard like the Manhattan and a bigger board like the Custom and the Apex... Does anyone have any information on which board would be best for shredding and hitting up spots but at the same time easy to cuise on?
I LOVE THIS ONE! I am getting it as soon as it comes in stock.. when will it? whats the song in the background of the video? And i live in an urban area with quite a few people to dodge but i want a quick smooth board thats good for carving ! Suggest some boards please!!!
ORIGNAL! I want this board SO BAD but I can't find it ANYWHERE! I'd be happy just to get the deck alone let alone a complete. It seems every vendor is OUT OF STOCK and that you guys just don't make this one anymore. Am I OUT OF LUCK?
I got this board and its so smooth and amazing. But when people say its only good for cruising and craving, they mean it. Its almost impossible to do anything else on this board. But if you looking for a head turner and only looking to cruise and nothing else this board is the shit. It's perfect for a girl like me, very fun.
@ratsmart9 Technical tricks like stand up slides and checks at 25+ mph makes longboarding almost just as difficult as skateboarding, but in a totally different sense. Skateboarding is foot work and jumping, while longboarding takes a lot more balance and comes from manipulating ones center of gravity. I'd say longboarding like a pro is "sketchier" because it often means you're downhill racing at 40+ mph. Skateboarding is tough too though with all the flip tricks and landing accuracy involved.
I don't know can you answer to this, but the pintail 40 has been out of stock for a looong while now, when is it coming back to stock? I'm just a little bit nervous because new season is only few days ahead and haven't got good board for summer :| so, when can I order the pintail 40? It's just been out of stock so long time... Please reply back Petter, I'm hopless if i dont get a board for summer :(
@Linkker I'm pretty certain Original will recommend the Apex 37 as usual. Most boards are great for cruising as it's just rolling along the pavement. For slides and speed you might want a symmetrical deck with drop-thru mounting and some concave, you could look at the Comet FSM or one of Rayne's boards. Hope this helps.
I've never ridden one but they are pretty cheap, it's not often the board that is bad quality more likely the hardware on the board (which you can also change). It depends if you're a beginner or whatever, just be grateful!
@olofandren Take them apart and remove the two wavecams (white inter-locking plastic things) and take some Lithium grease (white or standard) and literally cover the wavecams in it don't worry about the mess. Now put your trucks back together and ride squeak free!
Hey, my name is Kevin and I'm from Germany. I would like to buy a longboard but I'm not sure, which would be the best for me. I'm 160cm tall & my weight is 50 kilos I thinking about the custom35 or the apex37. Which one would be the best for me ? I want to cruise and to pump .. if you know what I mean ;) But it's difficult to buy it from here. Next month I will visit my grandparents in Miami. Can I be sure that I will find some longboards from original skateboards ? Sincerely yours, Kevin
@JustSomeHob0 hey thanx for replying i saw the pintail , looks like a nice one but im still gonna think about it , would know how much the shipping would be to the UK ? :P
hey, im new to longboarding , and i enjoy it although im not really good at it , i usually use my friends board but now want to buy my own can u recomend a particular board for newbies :D ?
@NohaOfficialMusic Hey! Really depends on what style riding you want to do. For general cruising and carving a pintail will work well and be easy on your wallet, for high end tricks and freeride an Apex 37 is better suited.
@TheEnviroFriend It's a long story but basically we felt it was important to build the best construction on the market, which I believe we did with the Apex 37. But it ended up more expensive than we would have liked.
We are now thigh deep in research to build just as much performance into a more affordable package.
The first board to come back out will be the Apex 34 which has graphics being applied right now. You will have options in the near future.
woo i got one on the weekend for only 150 complete, still in great condition. I find the concave or camber kinda of uncomfortable after a while of riding, maybe I'm not used to it yet. But I eventually forget about once I carve down a smooth mellow hill. Great craver but honestly I would never pay the full price for it. You can only do so little on it, plus it's just a pretty piece of wood.
Are these good for sliding? I'm deciding between this and the Malakai. I'm a snowboarder, and I heard these two were good, but I'm leaning more towards whichever is better for sliding. (I'm a beginner)
Original Skateboards, do you have to be a certain age to buy a longboard from your website? Because im 11 and I love longboarding and I want to get an apex 37.
@BONAFIDEPINOY I'd take a look at the Pintail 43- its a 9 ply board suited to bigger/taller riders but still has S8s like the Custom 35. The 35 would be a bit flexy for you.
@Taps254 Depends on the style of riding you want to do. As a beginner though, I would recommend a Pintail 40(for a bit more flex) or a Pintail 43 for more stiffness. Both come standard with S8s for versatile riding, and both work with a large selection of wheels.
Well, I'm stuck. I'm getting my first longboard, but I can't decide which to get. I'm around 5'8 and I weigh between 160-170. I live in Florida, so there aren't many hills. I'm looking for a board that is good for pumping, getting around, can build speed on flatland, and the occasional kickflip. What would you guys here recommended?
@swasi123 Check out the Apex 37 that is almost exactly what we designed that board for in first place. Add in a little bit of on hill performance via Randal or Bear trucks and you are in there.
@keesisleip what kind of travels would you do? i think optimal lenght of longboard to city is about 37 inches, i have 35 long deck and in city its really cool, pretty control in carves, but in faster speed its hard to control.. for big downhills are longer decks better.
@mnm3650 As a snowboarder you have a lot of great options from us here at Original. Check out the Pintail 40 for a beginner solution or the Apex 37 if you are getting serious about longboarding.
How thick are the risers ? And will the S8 trucks work on a landyathz Chief I've heard it will get wheel bite, but it's a pintale just like this custom and with the use of risers this shouldn't be a problem, or will it ?
@Nomisnfrodud Have not specifically tried on a LY Chief- there is another video on our channel about fitting trucks to a deck. Its a good place to start but you may have to just try them out and see. The risers are 3/4" and may allow some wheels but not others.
About how fast can you go on s 8 normal spring trucks???

Whats the best board to get if i just wanna chill and cruise around?
112miniman 7 months ago
I'm looking for a board thats a good shredding deck but at the same time good at cruising. I'm a little torn between a mini longboard like the Manhattan and a bigger board like the Custom and the Apex... Does anyone have any information on which board would be best for shredding and hitting up spots but at the same time easy to cuise on?

ORIGNAL! I want this board SO BAD but I can't find it ANYWHERE! I'd be happy just to get the deck alone let alone a complete. It seems every vendor is OUT OF STOCK and that you guys just don't make this one anymore. Am I OUT OF LUCK?
SebGH2 7 months ago
I got this board and its so smooth and amazing. But when people say its only good for cruising and craving, they mean it. Its almost impossible to do anything else on this board. But if you looking for a head turner and only looking to cruise and nothing else this board is the shit. It's perfect for a girl like me, very fun.

Is longboarding easier than skateboarding?
ratsmart9 7 months ago
@ratsmart9 Technical tricks like stand up slides and checks at 25+ mph makes longboarding almost just as difficult as skateboarding, but in a totally different sense. Skateboarding is foot work and jumping, while longboarding takes a lot more balance and comes from manipulating ones center of gravity. I'd say longboarding like a pro is "sketchier" because it often means you're downhill racing at 40+ mph. Skateboarding is tough too though with all the flip tricks and landing accuracy involved.

I don't know can you answer to this, but the pintail 40 has been out of stock for a looong while now, when is it coming back to stock? hey im 120 lbs, and 5'5 i currently have the arbor 36 bug and its a nice crusing board im looking for a better carving board. what should i get?
ihateboxes10 8 months ago
What board would you recomend for a little faster speeds combined with some cruising and lsides? (:
Linkker 8 months ago
@Linkker I'm pretty certain Original will recommend the Apex 37 as usual. Most boards are great for cruising as it's just rolling along the pavement. For slides and speed you might want a symmetrical deck with drop-thru mounting and some concave, you could look at the Comet FSM or one of Rayne's boards. Hope this helps.

hey my grandma bought me a board with out telling me about it all she told me is that its a krown is that a good board or was that a bad choice?
thanks
bailincbro 8 months ago
@bailincbro
I've never ridden one but they are pretty cheap, it's not often the board that is bad quality more likely the hardware on the board (which you can also change). It depends if you're a beginner or whatever, just be grateful!
Olygrom 8 months ago
@Olygrom thank i got it and it rides good

hey, im new to longboarding, im 176cm, and weight about 54kg, i want a board for just "chill" and relaxed skating, but speedy ofcourse :D

I gotta OS board the apex 37 but my trucks has started to make a noise every time im carving with it, what can i do to make it stop? Thanks :)
'
olofandren 8 months ago
@olofandren Take them apart and remove the two wavecams (white inter-locking plastic things) and take some Lithium grease (white or standard) and literally cover the wavecams in it don't worry about the mess. Now put your trucks back together and ride squeak free!

NohaOfficialMusic 8 months ago
@NohaOfficialMusic Hey! Really depends on what style riding you want to do. For general cruising and carving a pintail will work well and be easy on your wallet, for high end tricks and freeride an Apex 37 is better suited.

why are all the good affordable boards discontinued or out of stock?
TheEnviroFriend 9 months ago
@TheEnviroFriend It's a long story but basically we felt it was important to build the best construction on the market, which I believe we did with the Apex 37. But it ended up more expensive than we would have liked.
We are now thigh deep in research to build just as much performance into a more affordable package.
The first board to come back out will be the Apex 34 which has graphics being applied right now. You will have options in the near future.
Originalskateboards 9 months ago
woo i got one on the weekend for only 150 complete, still in great condition.
TINBITZPHAM 9 months ago
hi original! please say that you got one single custom 35 left! please!

Are these good for sliding? I'm deciding between this and the Malakai. I'm a snowboarder, and I heard these two were good, but I'm leaning more towards whichever is better for sliding. (I'm a beginner)

BONAFIDEPINOY 9 months ago
@BONAFIDEPINOY I'd take a look at the Pintail 43- its a 9 ply board suited to bigger/taller riders but still has S8s like the Custom 35. The 35 would be a bit flexy for you.

i'm getting my first board but i don't know which board would be right for me i weigh between 170-185
Taps254 9 months ago

99MrCman 9 months ago
I'm a 180 cm long man, I weigh about 70 Kilo's and have minimal skatboarding experience. I would like to get myself a longboard to travel distances.
As I said I'm quite the beginner, what board specifications would you advice?
Thanks in advance!
keesisleip 9 months ago
@keesisleip what kind of travels would you do? i think optimal lenght of longboard to city is about 37 inches, i have 35 long deck and in city its really cool, pretty control in carves, but in faster speed its hard to control.. for big downhills are longer decks better.

mnm3650 10 months ago
@mnm3650 As a snowboarder you have a lot of great options from us here at Original. Check out the Pintail 40 for a beginner solution or the Apex 37 if you are getting serious about longboarding.

How thick are the risers ? And will the S8 trucks work on a landyathz Chief I've heard it will get wheel bite, but it's a pintale just like this custom and with the use of risers this shouldn't be a problem, or will it ?
Nomisnfrodud 10 months ago
@Nomisnfrodud Have not specifically tried on a LY Chief- there is another video on our channel about fitting trucks to a deck. Its a good place to start but you may have to just try them out and see. The risers are 3/4" and may allow some wheels but not others.
