Not many other bands sound like this because there aren't a lot of bands that can get this close to chaos without deteriorating into random noise.
Converge isn't my favorite band, but you're high if you think this is "sloppy".

I love these kinds of bands, but these type of vocalists I don't. I can understand screaming, growling, even pretty extreme death or deathcore vocals, but this just has too much distortion (yeah the effect) like all converge songs I've heard. which is a shame imo... i agree with you only to a certain extent the lyrics hidden under the relentless high shrieking are actually pretty amazing. it makes it more of an after thought when you're listening, you feel the energy and intensity of it and upon more close listening and maybe reading the lyrics in an album cover you can really see the whole picture.
there are not enough bands like converge that play real hardcore anymore. hardcore in general has turned into a fucking joke in my opinion and it's sad.

This is what mathcore is all about; the chaos and technicality, I love it!!!!! Dillinger escape plan and converge are my two favorite bands of this genre.
Can't wait for october cause they are coming with mastodon and high on fire!!!!!

Speaking of that tour, my friends want to go to that concert to see dethklok. I, no offense, don't particularly like this music. The only band I would want to see on that tour would be mastodon. My friends that want to go to this concert have never been to a concert that is even close to this, and I can see them being retarded then getting beat up in a pit. Seriously though, who cares if you cant hear the actuall lyrics, reading them is good enough and mabye youll be suprised (like i was) at how full of emotion they actually are...
Converge arent one trick ponies. Listen to a cleaner calmer song like, phoenix in flight or farewell note to this city if you want to hear the lyrics.

I love these kinds of bands, but these type of vocalists I don't. I can understand screaming, growling, even pretty extreme death or deathcore vocals, but this just has too much distortion (yeah the effect) like all converge songs I've heard. which is a shame imo... Good song, hopeless vocals (not to offend anyone!).

i agree with you only to a certain extent the lyrics hidden under the relentless high shrieking are actually pretty amazing. it makes it more of an after thought when you're listening, you feel the energy and intensity of it and upon more close listening and maybe reading the lyrics in an album cover you can really see the whole picture.
