I grew up in the toilet known as oklahoma and the majority of people are ignorant hostile bigots. Kern's comments are typical and not shocking to me. I'm surprised David Duke isn't governor. They also feel the same way about blacks and latinos, but won't say anything because gays are easier to victimize.
This woman is a horror! How can Oklahomans put up with this kind of prejudice? This is only one step removed from blacks not being able to marry whites, etc. This is narrow-minded bigotry and not just an issue of "free speech." The woman should be put out of office.

Well the American Psychiatric Association is very clear on the fact that homosexuality is not a choice and can't be changed. It's not just a matter of people not killing themselves. It's the fact that if one single person on this planet had ever changed their sexuality it could be easily proven with phallometric testing. It's never happened. And of course trying to change something that can't possibly be changed is going to lead to suicides and dysfunction.
Well either way, both mainstream psychology and psychiatry agree sexuality can't be changed and trying to change it is harmful. If they had some way to change it they would certainly be doing so and raking in billions as they do treating addictions, personality disorders, etc.

Just because she has a right to say something does not mean she SHOULD. Really, one should use their head when one speaks up on that issue. Instead of saying "Do I have a right to say it?" ask yourself "SHOULD I say it?" If the answer is no, then DON'T. It will save you a lot of pain and heartache down the road.

I grew up in the toilet known as oklahoma and the majority of people are ignorant hostile bigots. Kern's comments are typical and not shocking to me. I'm surprised David Duke isn't governor. Well the American Psychiatric Association is very clear on the fact that homosexuality is not a choice and can't be changed. It's not just a matter of people not killing themselves. It's the fact that if one single person on this planet had ever changed their sexuality it could be easily proven with phallometric testing. It's never happened. And of course trying to change something that can't possibly be changed is going to lead to suicides and dysfunction.
