  • I somehow marked my own comment as spam!!Not sure how I did that! Thank you so much, for being an empathetic voice, saing thing running parallel to what I thought only I felt...that's pretty much the human condition, feeling alone in a room of equally alone millions...

  • doesn't all filipinos know this song?

  • What a beautiful song! Someone introduced me to the Indigo Girls years ago, and it this song still brings tears to my eyes.

  • NICE, NIGHTSHIFT, SOUNDS VERY NICE.

  • I'm just here, laying down with My Girlfriend at My side and I'm holding Her under My arm and we're listening to this in a comfortable silence together. I'll tell You I think this is what Heaven is like. I love My Sweetheart so much.

  • i saw indigo girls last night. just amazing!!!!!! brilliant & one of the best i've ever seen. Do It if ya can.

  • i'm going to see them next week in albany ny. can't wait..

  • Yep.

  • this songs brings back such memories for me...and it still brings me to tears as I relate it to my life today, as I did 15 years ago!

  • Such a lovely song. ^^

  • This was my wedding song . . . my husband and I are married 10 years this August 19 and this song still brings me to tears. I thought we had been through a lot in the 10 years we dated, but being married brought challenges I wouldn't have even imagined! "But I took us for better and I took us for worse, don't you ever forget . . . now the steel bars between me and a promise suddenly bend with ease . . . the closer I'm bound in love to you, the closer I am to free." My favorite lines!!

  • So much talent, absolutely enchanting music. Favorites for modern singer-sonwriters.

  • No matter what sexuality, race, religion... regardless of anything else, it is impossible to deny the talent of the Indigo Girls. They are probably the most poetic lyricists in modern music. If they had been born a hundred years ago, they would have been poets to compete with Auden, Elliot, and Yeats.

  • This has become the anthem to my life. Love it sooo much!

  • I feel honored to know the niece of Amy Ray, Laurie, who is an amazingly talented young girl and budding artist.

  • My potential bf played this for me last week & I love it. He told me to listen to the lyrics & trying to make sure of exactly what hes trying to tell me...brings a tear to my eye

  • One RAISES something to the power of 2, not multiplies by the power of two. Otherwise, a most touching song.

  • gosh 6 people are powerless.

  • The Indigo Gs have given me insiration to do my own song writting for 24 years or so, Being a gay man in the mid 80s there wasnt alot of music I could relate to then came them, it all changed for me . My one dream is to sing with them sometime, Thanks for this oportunity to express myself to the public and hopefully Amy and Emily

  • To Docnita that is so beautiful I am so sorry for your loss, but what you said hits so close to home, I am the one in the relationship that is suffering from lymphoma, my partner may be left behind and this song makes us both smile and I hope in my dire days that she can remember this.

What you said was so beautiful....

  • @pmsvoodoodoll I am praying for your full recovery and many years with your partner. :)

  • I like their voices and their guitar work. It's very soothing and subtle.

  • Thank you for sharing Nita and Bumper

  • how can people dislike this sing? it's so touching and heart felt, and yet there are dislikes?

  • @SingASong3211 I think that they they didn't mean to do that. Or if they did, then the FBI should be notified!!!!! because we have aliens looking at our internet.

  • this song makes me so emotional. it my favorite one by the indigo girls

i love you indigo girls, and the way you have been active in the things you beleive in, and in the beautiful music you make.

  • Indigo Girls is the shiznit and I will fight anyone who claims otherwise.

  • god bless...................................

  • Brilliant song, my love introduced me to this song and it's sooo true!

"Multiply life by the power of two!"

  • Great Song and Awesome Images TOO! <3

  • I love this song. It doesn't matter who you are, it can apply to any relationship. I introduced my husband to them and he liked every song I played. Great music. Beautiful song, beautiful singing and harmonizing as always.

  • @salgal80 I SO agree. Whatever the relationship, if you love each other, this is a beautiful song to play for your partner.

  • to docnita and buffbumper...comfort in your loss.

  • I rather like Indigo Girls. I discovered them through one of my LGBT friends, and I like how their music can apply for almost everyone, regardless of sex. This song... it's just about love.

  • Only 5 dislikes? What's not to like about this song? It's a love song about two people in a commited relationship. It could be same-sex, could be male-male, female-female relationship, could be male-female relationship. It's about a couple who are commited to each other through better and worst, for rich or poor. Beautiful song!

  • This song has a special place in my heart.

  • i miss my baby girl

  • I'm gonna cry. The lesbian part expecially got to me because of the whole "take them apart" thing. I hope that if I find a girl I like my parents won't find out and tear us apart. Oh and the two kids and the old people are adorible.

  • This track really inspired me to talk. Nice sound. Nice voice. Nice story!

  • I filmed this song at the Indigo Girls in concert last night in Northampton, Ma and they have aged well and their voices sound the same as they did over 20 years ago. Such a great video for this inspirational song. WArmly, Laurie

  • my best from high school introduced to the Indigo Girls 22 years ago when they were still local. i have been a fan every since...all those my bestie(lolo) lost contact (as ppl go there own way in life). i never found anyone else i felt that close to since then, so there songs are a constant reminder of my twin....i havent given up on findin him(and i know i will). So i wanna thank Amy & Em for the grat memories.

  • Such a beautiful song.

    docnita - sympathies and blessings.

  • a celebration of love, at its finest :)

  • I heard this song many years ago. I found it again today and began to cry. I lost my partner Paul in February of 2010, and this song reminds me of him so much it hurts. But somehow it's a good hurt. Paul, I love you still with everything that is in my being. I miss you baby.

  • @buffbumper

    I'm sure he's listening!

  • @buffbumper Okay, this made me cry! like wow.

  • @buffbumper

I'm really sorry to hear that, buffbumper; I mean, I haven't lost any partners in my life, so I can't really say I know how you feel, but I can tell you that yes, it will probably hurt to hear this song, but you can think of all the happy times, and learn to smile instead of cry, because you've had true love in your life. I really wish I could find the equivalent to your partner Paul in my own life; but I guess I'll have to wait...

  • @buffbumper I feel you... I loved this song also... sang this for my son everyday while he is battling cancer. Now that he is healed... i still remember all the battles that he had gone thru everytime I hear this song.... so much full of love.... like my son.... like my daughter... like me and my husband's love for our children.... like our love for each other... so much like your love to your partner....

  • My partner introduced me to the Indigo Girls 20 years ago and this was one of our favorites. My partner died almost 2 years ago after a long time battle with lymphoma and we found some comfort in this song as we hoped for a cure. Now, it brings tears to my eyes but I still love it. Our daughter has discovered a talent for singing and even a little song writing (at the ripe old age of 11) and I am looking forward to sharing Amy's and Emily's music with her as a way of remembering her Mama.

  • @docnita your a strong woman..stay strong..she is with you always :)

  • @docnita sad to hear that i hope your family does well and good luck wishes for your daughter. were ok were fine.

  • @docnita partner why dont you just say wife?

  • @docnita I'm so sorry!...I hope You are doing well!...Peace! :)

  • my friends mom wrote this song :) its so pretty

  • This was one of the first Indigo Girls songs I heard and actually listened to.... I be came a fan before the song even finished... Thanks ladies Your songs help me through the hard times

  • sweet

  • Amy and Emily, you don't have to wait any longer.

    "Yes, you want her

Look at her, you know you do

    Possible she wants you too

There is one way to ask her

    It don't take a word

    Not a single word

Go on and kiss the girl"

    Just do it!

  • One of my all time favorite songs, but I never saw the video before. Be careful if you watch it while really listening to the words - you may need Kleenex like I did...

  • @katesterla why's that?

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok,, that was mean, but hysterically funny..

  • That was one of the funniest comments ever...

  • Thats absolutely classic man!!!
