I think I would want to be wearing more protection when working with these tanks than what some of these guys are wearing. Cranking on these old tank valves with wrenches gives me the willies.
@monkeyboy4746 I agree. I suspect we are only seeing them handle the "safe" cylinders. I do see a respirator on everyones belt. Still, I wouldn't feel comfortable handling those cylinders without at least a respirator.
Cl2 + 2 NaOH --> NaCl + NaOCl + H2O
in other words, its not just table salt that comes out of the reaction from chlorine and sodiumhydroxide
it nothing realy harmfull, its bleach liquor (sodium hypochlorite solution)
but still very different than just NaCl...
cool video btw, i would have thought they just let that chlorine into the atmosphere as everything else would be too expensive :D
