Today's SS position has evolved into more of combo FS/SS player. You have to be able to tackle some but you have to be good in coverage as well. Plus, college players aren't often strong enough and big enough to play until 1-2 seasons into their career. When we say his speed is underrated, we mean his 40 speed does not reflect his game speed. Emmitt Smith & Jerry Rice both ran around a 4.7 at the combine, but both of them were a lot faster than that, especially Rice.

I am not sold on ANY safety this year. to hell with Chung and other safetys. The eagles wont take one in the first round...none are remotely worthy. No other team will take one in the first. Linebacker or TE in the second round. I dont see us taking either in the 1st. its not the way Andy Reid does things. I dont know where they will go but am certain they wont go there.

Hamlin is not going in the first or second round and he might slip to the 4th. I think the Eagles are good at safety. I think we will take a Cornerback that can play safety for depth in day two. We will sign J.R. Reed again and he might stick for the season( if healthy).
