Rahul Gandhi doesn't have to really renounce his italian citizenship to become a citizen of India because he is a citizen of India by birth, and not by descent. Maybe Mr. Swami is getting into it a little too much. Please spend some time reading the citizenship law.

Hence if Rahul doesn't renounce Italian citizenship he can not be legally Indian Citizen. He still carries Italian Passport (along with Indian Passport) & travel on the same to many places which is absolutely illegal.
