I tend to gravitate to this song when I am feeling down. Today I was driving back to work after a doctor's appt and it came on....totally made me smile as I sang along!! thanks for posting!!
I just heard this song for the first time like four or five days ago and literally haven't stopped listening to it yet. I'm 21, and it makes me so mad that my generation will be remembered for garbage "music" like Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber instead of amazing music like this. I'd take this any day of the week; today's artists can't hold a fucking jock to Jackson Browne or any of the singers from this era.
Thank you for the post , i bought the album as soon as it was available to buy and at that time at least where i lived it was at a head shop . Puh people stay young in your heart and mind ......................
is it really rock, if you sing about playing and travelling and singing about being in a band and playing about being in band and how hard it is to write songs and being on the road and being in a band etc, etc. etc.
Browsing through thrift store records, I found a test pressing of this song from the album performances, no markings at all, brought it home and what a surprise. It's awesome. One of my favorite live recordings.
If only we could rest easily upon that premise of sitting around thinking of grand concepts while the rest of us think small thoughts and pray innocence Im tired.....you know what i mean troooper!!

Beginning at 7:02 is the rare vocal appearance by David Lindley. The crowd loved it.

Two songs that combine to say and have so many different meanings as it relates to times and places in ones lifetime.
