"Rich people " people never pay taxes. Even with " loopholes " what's left is paid by the consumer.
Do you honestly believe they'll " eat " a sudden 20% additional cost of doing business?
Do-do flows downhill and you'll find this to be so next time you buy a TV if taxes are raised. A flat tax is the only way to fairly raise revenue, closing most all loopholes.
None of the three men you portray were true Republicans! Reagan was the most duplicitous, because he posed as a fiscal conservative. Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge were true Republicans.
@GutpileCharlie I see you're retired, probably spend your time listening to Limbaugh. Did you ever bother to Google his advertisers?
Did you ever bother to Divide the Cost of a new B1 Bomber ($1 Billion) by the current Maximum Social Security Benefit ($23,000). If you DID you would find out that 43,478 of you Government Check cashing retirees stay out of poverty thanks to FDR's New Deal.
That's right: 43,478 Retired people for 1 year, or just ONE plane.
@CI9TK ..."Go to my page"?....Hey you pathetic shit bag. You are nothing but a left wing loon, a progressive, liberal, socialist/Marxist son of a bitch.
Grow up, wake up and get your head out of your smarmy ass.
You imbecilic rat bastard. You just don't "get it". You are so far to the left you wouldn't make a scab on a decent American's ass.
Now fuck off you demented piece of shit.
When I need advice from a light weight such as you, I'll ask for it.
@CI9TK Hey you little disgusting piece of shit.....what the hell are you talking about? Your post is the raving of a little, pimply faced, lives in his mother's basement, poser with an I.Q. less than room temperature.
What the hell is the matter with you? You have got your head so far up your ass you need to buy a chance on a tractor to pull it out.
"Coward"? Also, I don't think I've discuss J.S. Bach, hats or cowboys.
You need your attitude adjusted you miserable little piece of shit.
@CI9TK I ;just got one post up and kept thinking what an unrepentant, unmitigated, miserable, repugnant, repulsive excuse for a human being you really are?
How did you get so totally fucked up? What the hell was the turning point in your life. Where you just born a pathetic moron?
I don't know where you are from, but you are the foulest piece of excrement I've run into in a long time. You just go out of your way to be a shit bag/
There is a place in hell for filthy excrement like you.
@GutpileCharlie Your kind thinks you're so smart - oh you "LOVE J.S. Bach", you are a filthy coward that is just a whole lot of talk. You are what we call All Hat and no Cowboy.
It's a fool who thinks he already knows everything and has nothing more to learn. You have cornered the market on ignorance. Have a heart attack you Medicare sucking pig
@CI9TK Oh, why don't you tell us ALL of your heroism, your strident desire to protect this country from enemies both foreign and domestic. You just LOVE a Country "Of, By and For the People".
Wait, I have that wrong? It's CORPORATIONS and MONEY that are YOUR salvation? Clinton "didn't do enough to stop 9/11" but Bush was "unaware"? Impossible.
Bush was told EVERYTHING the CIA had told Clinton. You are a filthy coward and you'll die a pathetic scumbag choking on your own disappointment.
I do vote against Rick Perry every chance I get. I don't like his politics. Even though the man himself is very charismatic. Reminds me of Gov. John Connelly when he was in office.
In 1955, under GOP President Eisenhower & GOP congress, the top 400 incomes averaged $12M (calculated in 2005 dollars). Those incomes paid an actual average tax of 51%.
In 2005, the top 400 salaries averaged $262M and paid an actual average tax of 17%
Eisenhower wisely tied school funding to national security and supported a graduated income tax. If you wonder what's happened to US public schools since 1980, look first to the Reagan-Bush tax policy—welfare to US millionaires.
Teddy and Ike arguably were socialists, particularly Teddy. He was the great grandfather of the modern welfare state (Johnson, FDR, Teddy). That Reagan wanted to cut taxes for the poor is not a bad thing. Republicans support progressive taxation, they just don't support punitive taxation. Untaxing the poor is a just thing to do. Taxing the rich simply because they have is not justified. No one should be taxed into poverty, but every dollar above poverty should see same tax rate.
This is the worst video I have ever seen on YouBoob! You have to be the biggest moran in a room full of morans to believe this crap!! Graduated taxes are obviously the norm. The 'Messiah' is killing our country with debt. Look at Ike's quote again. Teddy, Ike, and Reagan are 3 of the top Presidents we have been lucky enough to have had. Whoever posted this is a complete idiot and knows nothing of politics.
You think Teddy and Eisenhower were 2 of the greatest presidents? Eisenhower was okay, I suppose, but he started the interstate system with no constitutional justification. Are all our interstates post roads?? Teddy is somewhere above LBJ, but not by much. Any president who believes in nationalizing land for the sake of it does not believe in freedom. If he were smart, he'd have turned the parks into pay for use profit centers, but he didn't even do that with his land grab.
I guess I agree with you on your points, Ike and Teddy both had several very good points as well. I guess if I were alive then though, I would have gotten upset with their progressive causes. It was a different time then though, and the middle class was very small, especially in Teddy's time. We'de have to take all things into account. Reagan was by far one of the best, along with what I know of several of our founding fathers and Lincoln. None were perfect, but none of us are.
You're making the faulty logical assumption that because I argue roads aren't a federal responsibility therefore I'm against roads. That's really quite a ridiculous assumption, but think what you will. States have every authority to build roads and they do build many. Though less common, there are privately owned roads. Why do you seemingly imply that the choice is either federally constructed roads or cobblestone streets? Do you care about govt following the Constitution?
@oterj0- States do build roads. They build roads with Federally provided money. Texas for example, has a tremendous road system provided by Lyndon Johnson when he was in Congress. Texas also has a very modern Electrical Grid system in place in the Central Texas area. Also, provided by Lyndon Johnson and the Democratic Party. All these programs were fought for tooth and nail against the GOP party which tried to block the bills. Take that Rick Perry!
And why praytell does the money have to come from the Congress? Why can't Congress tax less and then States increase taxes as needed to fund roads as they see fit? I don't see that Congress has the authority to grant block grants for States. Congress' authorities are very specific and very limited. If they stuck to their Constitutional duties and nothing more, States could fund their own roads.
@oterj0- States can fund their own roads. Take Rick Perry, Texas Governor, for example. He wants to use State tax monies to build TOLL ROADS!!! In other words, use tax payer's money to build the roads and then charge the tax payer to use them! What a nice States Rights Advocate! By the way he has his jaundiced eye on a run for the White House. Another George W. Bush! That's all America needs! Has this Country gone NUTS!!!
So vote Rick Perry out if you don't like him. The point here is that the federal govt has no authority to build roads. They can build post roads and offices, but that's hardly a blanket authority to build roads everywhere. States or the people retain that authority. That you don't like how Texas does its roads is ultimately a question of who you vote for and possibly where you live.
Did McCain come out against a graduated income tax? I didn't think so. No one has said richer people shouldn't pay more taxes. No one. All this video shows is people agreeing with a graduated income tax. This video would be relevant if McCain was for a flat tax.
All McCain has said is that redistribution purely based on an arbitrary income level is bad economic policy. No one is against taxes, just bad tax policy.
And to imply that Reagan shared a tax idea with Obama should offend any liberal.
I'm against the graduated income tax. I'm very much in favor of progressive taxes, but I believe they should be made progressive via a generous, standard deduction. Graduated rates and itemized deductions add unnecessary complexity. Further, they allow govt to divide and conquer the taxpayers. Don't worry, I won't tax you...I'll just tax all those corporations that you buy stuff from. With 1 rate and 1 standard deduction (per dependent) progressivity without complexity is possible.
Are you guys kidding? None of these examples are anything like what Obama is proposing. Obama is literally going to tax rich people and hand it to poor people in the name of a 'tax credit.' It's a handout. He's not actually going to cut any middle-earner's taxes.
This is a far cry from Ike or Reagan. Obviously, almost all revenue from the government comes from taxes. Obviously, taxes are necessary. They provide for the programs we need. But that's not the same as "redistribution."
do get mcCain steeling money from our pockets 7 thousand to 15 thousand dollars look at health plan if smart you will get it
his tax cuts middle class will get 300 to 700 dollars he gives family 5 thousand for health care his plan says tax health care so jobs then drop it so on your own with health care if have any pre illness or runs in family or over weight drink smoke azma you a risk will pay 12 thousand or more! so now subtract 5k gives you!! out of your own money you pay 7 thousand
@crispiva1 McShame campaign? What about the Obamunist campaign not wanting the video of Obama saying "your absolutely right, John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith" ? His campain knew Americans wouldn't elect him if they knew he was a Muslim after what happened on 9-11-2001.
