Actually if u read Bono on Bono he says that even they have had their fights, Bono and Larry are the closest to each other as they come from similar bckgrounds. Same for the Edge and Adam. Also it can be argued that the latter are the stabling influence of the band

after listening to both versions again, i have to agree you are probably right. edge did play a little bit better on this version than at red rocks. bono's vocals were better at red rocks, but i think that is a function of more years of wear on bono's vocal chords. edge can always buy new instruments, but bono only has one set of vocal chords. u2 doesn't get enough credit for how much they tour and i am amazed bono can still talk after so many years, let alone sing! he's a friggin machine.
