Photoshop CS5 seems to be the popular choice for post production. With portraiture I can see why it could be needed but with my other pics I like to do very little post production work. Conputer programs can make a great photo into an amazing photo but I like my pics to be as "real" as possible. Just knowing your camera and learning about photography is as far as I like to take it. Seeing how my shots look without post production is very rewarding. Karl is awesome.....taught me heaps!
the title says: Professional Photo Retouching Secrets...that is the title of the DVD....it's obviously misunderstandable but perfectly honest. if you think about it.
I do have someone to edit for. I am proud to say I am an assistant to the best fashion photography retouch / graphic design artist where I currently live. We have an exclusive contract with one of the best fashion photographers as well so I'm lucky to learn from the best =)
Always looking to learn new tricks of the trade though, would love to start working on my own portfolio this year, doing work within and outside the fashion industry.
This looks very interesting, I went to the website and everything looks great, I will sign up for the free tutorial (for now just the free one). I have a quick question though, if I am not interested in taking the photos myself but I would like to learn new tricks and techniques in fashion photography retouching (photoshop skills) will I find many videos like the one above? Thanks for answering. =)
@quikhax if you're not interesting in taking the photos you need to find someone to edit for. i'm a photographer and personally i don't really want to do the editing part, i prefer to tell the stories and would rather have another touch them up for me to work together.
Man... at 0:34 of this video, he used the Color Range Tool. It's another selection tool very useful to select some details or extract backgrounds. In this case, he used this tool to select the model and apply some adjustment layers.
Search for Color Range or try these awesome tuts:
Linda.com Tutorials (Best of hole YouTube)
watch?v=9o7MikrvmcE or search "Photoshop Top 40 #23 - Color Range"
FocalOnline
watch?v=P01jzkcGuMA or "Color Range Masking in Photoshop by Martin Evening"
