  • What valves do you press to get a 6 note scale on my Euphonium?

  • you almost crack up at the end of all of these

  • 2 things, helpful, thx,

    And..

    LOL

    ROFL

  • @FrenchHornMaster3125 Glad you liked it!

  • Very helpful

  • I'm glad!

  • great!~

  • Thanks for the comments!

  • My Euphonium has so many intonation difficulties (it's a Willson 2950), that I use awkward alternate fingerings for notes. My mid-range A is really flat, so instead of 2nd I use 4th. And both the upper and higher register F's are incredibly sharp, so I use the 4th valve for those. For high Bb I use 1st.

The instrument is worth it for it's tone quality :-P

  • That hasn't been handled yet - but thanks, I'll put it on my list.

  • hey, which video explains how to achieve range

  • This was really helpful and all, but what about the double horn? I'm asking this becasue I play a double horn (French Horn) and I know a few alterante fingerings, but the thumb key sometimes confuses me. I've been plaing for about two years. If you could help me, thanks!

    PS: I favourited your videos.

  • Thanks for the comment! I have put your question on my list.

  • if I could just interject here the thumb key is weird because pressing it raises the pitch from F to Bb. When you press the thumb key down, the length of the instrument is the same as a euphonium and you can play the same notes with the same fingerings. Without pressing the thumb key your horn will be in F like normal

  • the Daddy, baby, grandfather. That is helping alot. and so is the house one.

  • Thanks for the feedback, that's a big help. If you discover any other helpful principles in your own playing, I'd love to hear about them.

  • you have helped me alot too. I just got my fench horn.i am in 6th grade, so i am still trying to learn how to play. I am the best in my class becauze of your videos. Keep em' coming!

  • That is certainly wonderful to hear, and very interesting that your progress was helped along by the videos. Can you tell me what it was in them that helped you so much? I would love to get your feedback and ideas for my work on further videos. Thanks for the comment.

  • Wow, I just got my euphonium yesterday, and had previously watched your videos. My teacher was suprised at how much i knew, because I never played brass just bari and alto sax. Anyways your viideo's are awesome and hopefully they'll keep coming, more advanced. I joined youtube to subscribe to you......and to post this. Thanks alot.

  • Wow. I feel honored to have helped. It seems from your comment that you watched the videos in precisely the spirit in which they were conceived: not as a substitute for a good teacher, but as a way of understanding the world within which you want to flourish. Just as a farmer won't flourish who has not understood the seasons, so will a musician not flourish who has not understood his instrument. Thanks for the comment, and feel free to make suggestions, or [video?] responses about your progress.

  • wow... that was great and surprising =)

Sounds so natural for you ;)

    good job, nice vid !

  • Yeah, I guess you were right about me. ;) I thought your idea of me giving kids a potato as a gift and telling them it was something else was hilarious. Glad you liked the new video. Thanks again.

  • I tought you would have played that potato! I think your potato just sounds like my buzz :(

  • No, I haven't learned potato yet, but I have played squash.

  • Thanks to Juju798 for the idea for the beginning.
