@ 0:11 Is a good example. That backround music makes it sounds as If the toys are real.LOL I take it somebody understands what I'm talking about. This commercial echo's in my mind more than the G1 Triple Changers commercial.
I love the backround music as much as the toys.It really sets the mood & sells you on the fact that these are not Transformers just yet, but convinces you that the Diaclone ( & Microman) were a force to be reckoned with.
Lol I love how over-the-toply epic these ads are, plus this reminds me of Blitzwing, is it his original inspiration? It also reminds me of Astrotrain but it's clearly not him.
That's right. This toy became Blitzwing. It was also reissued by TakaraTomy in these "Diaclone" characters as a new character named "Overcharge." What I love is that even then, he was still officially called a "Triple Changer."
Of course, being a "triple-changer" has become more important since then; some portrayals suggest triple-changers are evolutions or even possibly "mutants" such as the IDW and Dreamwave "War Within" stories. Even Animated Blitzwing didn't start as a triple-changer.
Even in "Animated," Blitzwing's condition as a 'triple-changer" is still unusual.
He wasn't originally a triple changer, but the AllSpark Almanac reveals that after the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons (in that continuity), Blackarachnia rebuilt him into one to make him a more versatile warrior.
But as a side effect, the process "fragmented" his personality, splitting him into the Icy, Hothead, and Random Blitzwing that we know in the present day!
I guess that Takara was intended this Triple Changer to be something to fight in the Third World War.. against China and Russia. but later then Takara changed the concept into the whole army that trained to fight an aggressive alien race called "Warauders" .. finally. Hasbro turned this TripleChanger (Jet-Tank type) into a badass known as Blitzwing. (And then Quintesson's Overcharges with original DIACLONNNNNNE colour :P )

Yup. That's Blitzwing. Looks like some helicopter too...

There was another DiaClone Triplechangers that NEVER (and will NEVER) make it to Transformers.
the HeliJet triplechangers
but.. he did make it to TF: War Within. but as cameo appearance, alongside Marlboro Wheeljack.... both are decepticons.
The helijet dude looks much closer to Cobra vehicles. if Cobra really interested in mecha thing. this helijet might become Cobra's creations :)

The Diaclone Jet/Tank Type was called Blitzwing in the Transformers line.
The Helicopter Type (Blue Helicopter/Jet/Robot) was never released in the line.
SturmvogelPrime 5 years ago
I think that helicopter/jet/robot did came to America as Sandstorm.
6arcsn1sky 4 years ago
No, sandstorm went from robot to helicopter to Dune buggy.
