there is a music group from Bolivia I think which make that song and others in Montreal's metro in summer! I bought one of their album and love to see them playing! :) Everybody clap their hands after their play. Very good music!!

Doesnt matter if it's a san juanito, you have to remember that in most of the world "peruvian music" is a general term used to refer to music of the andes. That is because everyone knows about peru but in many countries there is very little knowlege of countries like ecuador and bolivia. It's a bit sill to get so hung up on a generalized term.

Concuerdo con ccanto007, ese ritmo es San Juanito, tipico del Ecuador pero que se hizo muy popular entre todos los musicos de folklore latinoamericano y que desde varios anios atras no solamente los musicos ecuatorianos lo tocan si no tambien los peruanos...
