Its funny how a guy with a suit on can be considered gay, when David Lee Roth was also jumping around on stage with assless chaps. He's still not married. Doesn't mean he's gay - and even if he was, does it take away from his vocal performance? Not one bit. Gary was awesome and I wish they'd have done another album with him.
Well in garys case he doesnt suck ,but he cant replace two of the best that ever graced the stage with VH, and i dont think anyone will ever do as good of a job as sammy , but just my opinion, DLR was good but sammy was great .
Gary Cherone has always been an excellent showman on stage (just listen to him doing this song in Pittsburgh taken from much earlier on this same tour or watch footage of him performing with Extreme).
If he had been given more of a chance in Van Halen (perhaps a couple more albums) he could have helped the band go into a new era but Eddie's ego drinking and lack of overall professionalism (going on stage sloshed top the gills) got in the way.

gary cherone is a great singer but not for van halen, listen to the stuff he did with extreme and he's terrific, his writting is good too. but he just doesn't match the van halen scene i'm not saying he sucks but he just doesn't fit in van halen
@slugmaster31 At least he was willing to do songs from both the Roth and Hagar eras. Hagar did maybe 3 DLR era songs and you won't hear any Sammy era stuff with Dave currently in the band.

I don't think that Gary killed this track live. It sound also quite good. I think the backing vocals on "Right now" are forced somehow and not very powerful. But I think this song contains one of the tightest and finest guitar solo in the whole history. Great piece of artwork
