@RavenAshbourneBlack Cheaper than therapy? Like getting a drunk dental hygeniest friend to perform a tummy tuck on you. At some point you have to start asking about qualifications. One course 'leader' used to be a hairdresser. If you can sign up a lot of people, nothing else matters, they will put Mork from Ork or Elvis up there if they could make a buck. I have taken landmark courses for about a year. You feel an extreme emotion high when you finish one of its mother courses, especially the landmark forum (the first landmark course). However, the high only last for about a week for me, maybe a month for some people and then it goes away. People get so addicted to the power that landmark gives them and are convinced they can only live an extrodinary life if they take the courses.

Interestingly, someone is censoring critical comments of Landmark Eduction on the video "Landmark Education -- My First Impressions" They're marking any critical comments as spam and look to be using multiple accounts to rate them low.
Actually, the ratings have long been disabled for this clip, due to many sockpuppets that tried to rate the report down. No, criticism isnt being held back at all. You can see this by the amount of critical comments about Landmark overall. It wouldnt be unusual for the clip you mention to be having criticism stifled. After all, scientology is the mother of Landmark and reality by way of agreement is a by default to both "teachings"
Yes unlike your video, the video clip, "Landmark Education -- My First Impressions", doesn't look to be actively moderated and ratings are enabled on it. So someone looks to be censoring any negative comments on it.
Could be. Susieshepherd's comments on bradbavarde video "experts speak on Landmark Forum" had over -30 negative rating before bradbavarde turned comment rating off.
The comments are invisible after -6 so they were being rated without being read. Who would do that?...landmark spambots. Also look at Raw Beauty TMLP, all the comments there were posted one year ago and all the accounts that commented havn't been used in 8 months. Some landmarkers are creating fake enthusiasm to aid recruiting. How inauthentic!
Ive tried the courses, typically they have almost zero learning content, and ultra high on emotional coersive sales techniques designed to gain more sales of course attendees and the material they teach you is dubbed from other courses or books you could buy for a tiny fraction of the price.
i got my ex-girlfriend enrolled in landmark because I thought it would help her and i lost her too it. It took over her life and we are no longer together. She became a coach, with no pay, and it took up all of her free time. She also started talking their lingo and no one could relate to her anymore. I do not recommend this program even though initially it appears good. Don't even go to a introduction night. They will suck you in.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I'm doing what I can to close their operations here in Toronto. It is illegal for them to have unpayed employees..all you do is write a letter to the ministry of labour. That's how they closed their operations in France. I'm going to a landmark introduction next week to go and make a fool of them and try and convince people around me NOT TO SIGN UP!!! HAHA wish me goodluck! I would probably go there every few weeks just to ruin their program.
They seduce you. What you dont know is that the leader at the front of the room who everyone is cheering for used to be a hairdresser or failed ballet dancer. They have no credentials, no training. They say things like life is 1% what occurs and 99% your reaction, well where do they come up with the numbers.
People talk about their rapes and molestations for the first time in a room with 100 strangers, and no professional doctor. They tell the victim to make amends with their perpetrator and not blame them. The leader has already spent two days beating down everyone who opposes them. No one stands up for the victim, and she or he doesn't stand up for themself. They walk out of there a lost soul.
There was a guy at Landmark, he was middle age, he had a really good job working for the city, he had benefits, security, a good home, seniority. he took a landmark seminar and he decided to give up his city job and go with a private employer where he could get fired after just a month or two. I tried to talk some sense into him, but Landmark had him so fired up.
They did it to one of the women in my group. She had been raped. The leaders are not therapists, there's 100 people watching, and they basically say its not a big deal.
The Landmark Forum is a heretical organization. Throughout the whole weekend, the leader kept saying, I have seen god, and god is a black woman. Bullshit. God is not a black woman.
The leader kept telling us to pay attention to your little voice, and saying the word is god, and you don't know the power of your word, creation from nothing. More bullshit. God created the world not us.
One leader was an ex-con, another a former hairdresser, and still another was a ballet dancer.
This is idiocy, My sisters have been involved in landmark education and it has been a complete nightmare. One has a x husband who has clinical mental illness and got them into it. He has been in perpetual denial and using landmark as a mythological source of empowerment. If anyone wants to hear the story as per my DIRECT Experience with my family and landmark let me know.
It must be so difficult to watch people you care about have their critical thinking skills stripped away. My heart goes out to you. Have your sisters come to their senses yet? I have a friend who's been involved for 8 years. I stopped all contact with him back when he first joined up because he kept pressuring me to join. I only recently became friends with him again. He knows better than to try to convert me now.
I have taked the Whole Cirriculum for Living which is the forum, tha advanced course and and the Selp. And when i left i had severe panic attacks and just had the experience of not knowing what to believe about anything.
I did understand some good stuff but i never had panic attacks or anything similar prior to taking the forum.
land mark edu is a scam praying on naive people with problems. My sister tried to get me into it, she is now divorced and bankrupt after being involved with lndmrk. She did the advanced training in Chicago and spent thousands. Her ex husband is mentally ill and he was the one that started the whole thing. STAY AWAY from it is all I can say. There's a sucker born every minuet.
jjuran, go away and stop spamming your shilling for the EST/Landmark scam. You're wasting your time by trying to reconcile a splinter of scientology as having any worth.
oh yeah of course that's right landmark MUST be "a splinter of scientology". i really appreciate this rigorous exploration of the facts! yup nothing but facts here!!! dude you're going to save the world!!!!! I mean thanks to you i userdstand..obama+hussien+saddam+hussien=terrorist!!!!! thank you for teaching me how to decipher fact from some general assumptions i ALMOST made. you think if people thought like you there would have been no slavery!!!!!!! your a GURU! GURU Tub3dYou! You're the best!
The guy that started landmark broke off from $cientology. There are a lot of parallels.
Oh my god, I had a best friend who got me to go to the forum, and it was shattering. There is so much peer pressure..like in my case, at the time it was hard to reconcile the destructiveness of this process with my feeling that my bes friend at the time had my best interests at heart.
Even though, this is painful to watch, I want to thank you for sharing this clip exposing what's really going on.
It is a total cult. I went last weekend and they use common high pressure sales tactics to hypnotize you and break down your convictions only to fill you back up with their version of reality. Read about high pressure sales or pyramid schemes before you go and you will see right through what they are up to. It's all about making a lot of money off of good people.
nuff said..nothing more than a legalized con job, where the victims take the wrap for the perpetrator (LE) at the end of the con..or else the victims simply take their place in the assembley line and begin droning out an 'ecstatic' life as they work for free to reel in as many more suckers as they can stand to reel in...HUGE scam, hugely successful...thanks to victims like 'ziggy' who never saw it coming, and won't see it going when its used them all up...covert hypnosis plays a pivotal role...
zigzag and ALL the pro-landmark forum accounts are BS . dont ever go to a "graduatuon" , its a ploy to get u hooked at 600$ trust me. its mind control scam
my mom was in this... and now she signed me up for this. and really...we cant afford that much money, but she says i really need it.
i'll be going to it on october 31, nov 1 and 2. it's for teens. i'm 17. i'll try to remain skeptical with everything. if i come back unchanged...i'll try to post a video of what happened...
Landmark people are totally dependent on the Landmark forum organization for their mental and emotional stability.....Such weaklings who have replaced their old chains with landmark chains, so needy!
Guys, reading these posts is like a breath of fresh air. I've been posting over in the threads of "successpayswell" and LM has some heavyweights taking me on. Come read and feel free to respond. Reading these posts is like leaving the crazy ward and having a cup of coffee with a good friend! Thank you all so much for telling the truth and not being bullied!
Landmark is a dreadful con. Two of my sisters are converts and one in particular, the most vulnerable of the two, has been completely sucked in. She's drifted away from the family and I've seen no positive changes in her whatsoever, even though she thinks Landmark is God's gift. It has all the hallmarks of a cult.
The long days wear you out mentally plus the assignments mean you dont get the sleep you need to endure this.
You can see that people will accept anything after the 3rd day by being physically knackered. When you are sick you go to a doctor. The doctor prescribes drugs. Some people will get well. Some will have side effects. Some will not respond
and some will become addicted and you see many of those believe me.
I was posting on someone's promotional clip and after a couple of back and forths, she blocked me. Other promo videos only allow you to post comments pending approval. There's no room for debate with LM. There's no room for critical questioning. Notice how there are hardly ever any non-stellar reviews? Notice how all the stellar reviews are almost identical, practically scripted? Wake up people. LM is not the answer. It actually becomes part of the problem.
My best friend became heavily involved in Landmark Education. He likened the organisation and it's courses to a panacea. Whilst there was a lot of talk from him about how Landmark improved this or that aspect of his life I didnt notice any positive changes in his behaviour. In fact, he became a zealot for Landmark and aggressively pushed for all those around him -strangers included - to join the course. We lost contact coz I made it clear I didnt want to be a part of that articial support group.
Thanks bonnie. I just went to a 3 hour session for my good frien's sake. She rarely talked about landmark. I didn't sign up and got some weird looks. I couldn't understand why people who never met me before wanted me to sign up. Futhermore I feel that the ones that got up and "self-disclosed" were a bunch of phonies who may well have been paid to do so.
My friend was never a very discerning person. I hope that Landmark hasn't taken away her defenses, intuition and critical mind.
Think of this cult as a sh*t Tootsie-Pop. Candy on the outside, but a sh*t center. It starts out seemingly useful, but before long, you're signing up for ever more expensive courses, becoming their un-paid salesman by making agreements to bring in your friends, co-workers, friends of your co-workers, strangers, etc. etc.
Eventually it's not about what YOU want, it's about what THEY want. And that's to sell their courses and make more money.
Landmark is the creation of a former used car salesman, child molester, and con man - John Rosenberg who changed his name to Werner Erhadt (creator of est). He is a former Scientologist who stole their "technlogy" and created est and then Landmark Education. Earhardt is on the lam currently and wanted by the Feds.
Landmark Forum is:
*a brainwashing seminar
*a pyramid scheme
People - do your own research first. Don't be suckers.
Seems just like any other church I've attended. The church's bottom line: money. Landmark's is the same. C'mon, don't decieve yourselves into thinking the guilt your receive from childhood is more palatable than another.
I got sucked into this by my boss and thankfully kept my will power well into the first day and walked out in the middle of it. They hunted me down in a room that wasn't under my name and harassed me continuosly. Them my boss belittled me for "being to weak to see the things they were showing that I needed to change." Needless to say I don't work there anymore
this past weekend same thing, happened to us, we wlaked out after a few hours, I was SOOO mad at what was happening and we were the only ones that took a stand, I called them to return the my to the boss that paid but he is totalally dedicated LM. Apparetly LULULEMON MAKES all their employees take the Forum...beware
Great job on the part of this television network! They've taken on an organization notorious for threatening anyone or anything with legal action, that will criticize them publicly. Great work 'Today tonight'! Here's hoping for more critical news coverage wherever this gong show operates.
If by "deal with their lives in a healthy and productive way" - you mean volunteer for a for-profit, privately owned company managed by Werner Erhard's brother, sister, and attorney - in a manner that causes it to be investigated by Federal Departments of Labor in multiple countries - then yes.
I don't think that having the ability to imagine a life thats better constitutes as weak minded. Most of the people who do it have a massive positive shift, and are better equipped to deal with their lives in a healthy and productive way. It's basically philosophy put into action thats my take on it.
...But joining a cult-like organization and paying these bozos money can certainly be seen to be weak-minded. Massive "shift?" Wouldn't that include the mystic word "paradigm," which would firmly place you into the whack-o file? Hey, they got that "philosophy-into-action" bit from L. Ron Hubbard.
DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE REAL LIVES OF L.RON HUBBARD(DIANETICS FOUNDER) AND WERNER Erhadt(EST FOUNDER) ON THE WEB.GO TO RICK ROSS'S SITE..IT HAS SO MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT CULTS SUCH AS DIANETICS AND LANDMARK EDUCATION. AND BEST OF ALL IT'S FREE TO DO THIS RESEARCH. ANYONE WHO HAS LOST A LOED ONE TO THESE CULTS(SUCH AS I HAVE) WILL TELL YOU-ITS DANGEROUS-EVENTUALLY THEY WONT LET YOU GO-KEEP YOU ON A LEASH(BY PHONE&BRAINWASHING IN PERSON) AND YOU WONT HAVE ANYONE IN YOUR LIFE BUT CULT MEMBERS.
The more people who go through the Landmark Forum, courses and IFP track it may be the less sustainable Landmark becomes. As most people leave landmark after a few months, a few stay and are dedicated who often burn out. It leaves an environment of those formerly active that are indifferent, skeptical and some negative about their participation in Landmark. Eventually a tipping point may reach where the skepticism of those formerly involved resulting in diminishing number of new enrollees.
we will not get into a debate about my comment. You will not take away my right to express an experienced/educated opinion.
You are obviously one of the psychologically affected and are probably unable to engage in a meaningful and objectively informed debate anyway.
Just to offer a little carrot, the part I had in the losing the relationship was to recognize the psychological kidnapping and refusing to allow myself to be turned into a free laboring drone marketer of garbage.
Where'd you get this "experienced/educated opinion"?
If it were Space travel, you would need to do some to have "experience". Not look at a picture of a Shuttle and know someone who has actually done it.
You could look at what you are saying about your loved ones' ability to see blue from red if they were so easily turned into a "free laboring drone marketer of garbage."
Your friend got something from the Forum and is heartbroken to be unable to speak about it with you.
I got this educated/informed/researched opinion from doing just that. Close to two years of research and direct observation/experience of the deterioration of one (watched several others in the process of observing this one) who was once freethinking, intelligent, curious, and nobody's fool.
For more info do an internet search for Werner Erhard, est, Erhard Seminars Training, Landmark Forum Education Labor Violations Investigations, Landmark Education litigation, or random combos of the above. Have fun!
Bravo for not caving to the Landmark thugs who would like to silence anyone with anything derogatory (truthful) to say about them and their stupid "programs."
Nope, ratubl. We're talking about $cientology. Then again, there are certain characteristics that are a common thread of any cult. I named a few above.
When you take them on, they tell you they're not doing therapy, they're just selling a product. They say that only ppl who are "healthy" should take the LMF, but then don't know how to answer a simple question like, "What are you doing to screen to make sure those who are vulnerable are being protected"? That question usually stumps them. The higher ups are so well trained in manipulating through speech, but it's all very transparent and easy to expose.
Great reporting, long overdue! Hopefully we will see some North American News providers put together similar types of reports on Landmark Education activities in US and Canada. For anyone who has been harmed by or has lost relationships with loved ones directly due to the bizarre influence of Landmark Education, a story like this one is redemptive and is very encouraging. Way to go Australia!!

It's all about making a lot of money off of good people.
mmac2021 3 years ago 6
nuff said..nothing more than a legalized con job, where the victims take the wrap for the perpetrator (LE) at the end of the con..or else the victims simply take their place in the assembley line and begin droning out an 'ecstatic' life as they work for free to reel in as many more suckers as they can stand to reel in...HUGE scam, hugely successful...thanks to victims like 'ziggy' who never saw it coming, and won't see it going when its used them all up...covert hypnosis plays a pivotal role...

11bonnie 3 years ago 6
Thanks bonnie. I just went to a 3 hour session for my good frien's sake. She rarely talked about landmark. I didn't sign up and got some weird looks. I couldn't understand why people who never met me before wanted me to sign up. Futhermore I feel that the ones that got up and "self-disclosed" were a bunch of phonies who may well have been paid to do so.
My friend was never a very discerning person. I hope that Landmark hasn't taken away her defenses, intuition and critical mind.
obbligato123 3 years ago 9
This is exactly what happened to my best friend. I could have written these same exact words.
Sulalee 3 years ago 2
Think of this cult as a sh*t Tootsie-Pop. Candy on the outside, but a sh*t center. It starts out seemingly useful, but before long, you're signing up for ever more expensive courses, becoming their un-paid salesman by making agreements to bring in your friends, co-workers, friends of your co-workers, strangers, etc. etc.
Eventually it's not about what YOU want, it's about what THEY want. And that's to sell their courses and make more money.
Inform yourself. Stay away.
ChristopherBradley 3 years ago 3
It's weird you say that, they pissed me off cos to me they came off as extreme right-wingers :o)
Let's just agree I guess, they're shifty from whichever way you look at it.

Great job on the part of this television network! They've taken on an organization notorious for threatening anyone or anything with legal action, that will criticize them publicly. Great work 'Today tonight'! Here's hoping for more critical news coverage wherever this gong show operates.

If by "deal with their lives in a healthy and productive way" - you mean volunteer for a for-profit, privately owned company managed by Werner Erhard's brother, sister, and attorney - in a manner that causes it to be investigated by Federal Departments of Labor in multiple countries - then yes.
gurutruth 4 years ago 8
No as it happens, that is entirely not what i meant.
iclotsofpills 4 years ago
I don't think that having the ability to imagine a life thats better constitutes as weak minded. Most of the people who do it have a massive positive shift, and are better equipped to deal with their lives in a healthy and productive way. It's basically philosophy put into action thats my take on it.
iclotsofpills 4 years ago
...But joining a cult-like organization and paying these bozos money can certainly be seen to be weak-minded.

Eventually a tipping point may reach where the skepticism of those formerly involved resulting in diminishing number of new enrollees.

jttnd,
we will not get into a debate about my comment. You will not take away my right to express an experienced/educated opinion.
You are obviously one of the psychologically affected and are probably unable to engage in a meaningful and objectively informed debate anyway.
Just to offer a little carrot, the part I had in the losing the relationship was to recognize the psychological kidnapping and refusing to allow myself to be turned into a free laboring drone marketer of garbage.
gurusnotmyfriends 4 years ago 5
Where'd you get this "experienced/educated opinion"?
If it were Space travel, you would need to do some to have "experience". Not look at a picture of a Shuttle and know someone who has actually done it.
You could look at what you are saying about your loved ones' ability to see blue from red if they were so easily turned into a "free laboring drone marketer of garbage."
Your friend got something from the Forum and is heartbroken to be unable to speak about it with you.
jttnd 4 years ago
I got this educated/informed/researched opinion from doing just that. Close to two years of research and direct observation/experience of the deterioration of one (watched several others in the process of observing this one) who was once freethinking, intelligent, curious, and nobody's fool.

Heavy emphasis on recruiting and group mentality are two basic principles of a cult.

ratubl 4 years ago
Nope, ratubl. We're talking about $cientology. Then again, there are certain characteristics that are a common thread of any cult. I named a few above.
LeftyBlue 4 years ago
