sorry, but sony just does'nt make good sub woofers (take a look at hypex, vifa or seas etc. those are good!) and speakers!!!!! i won't say it's crap, but it won't give you great qaulity sound.
I have a sony dvd 5.1 surround sound system but it has no hdmi inputs and I want to connect my ps3 with hdmi but I cant I could only use optical it sounds great but I want to use hdmi. I plan on buying one of these three soundbars CT-100,CT-150 or CT-500 which of these do you recommend?
guys we can enjoy even the uncompressed HD surround sound on ct100. Pretty amazed with the kind of performance that it gives for the 200$ that i spent. The best..!
Appreciated this video. It influenced my decision to buy it. Love my new Sony HT-CT100 Sounds great and way better than the thin sounds from my Toshiba 32". It automatically allowed my Toshiba TV remote to work directly with it for volume control. Perfect for small condos/rooms. It turns itself off, when you turn off the TV. Now I can finally enjoy my music DVDs and Blue Ray player. Doesn't get too loud, but I don't need to annoy neighbours. The bass is great and the sound is rich.
Would you know, if you can connect Wireless Surround Sound Headphones to the 100 or 500? I have the 100 and it sounds great but sometimes I don't wanna disrupt my wife and kids while I'm watching tv or playing video games. Thanks.
Hey I just saw that Sony just released the CT-150! Would that be a good gaming sound bar? I currently have a Samsung HT-WS1R Soundbar. It broke because it was crap. Do you think that the CT-150 would be a good replacement?
The CT 100 at Costco is $199. while at Best Buy it is $299. I believe that the CT500 is much more expensive than the 100. Mine is below the TV (60" Sony MN801) and I like the sound VERY much...
@3:35, you talk about holding it on the top of the TV. I don't know about the CT500, but the CT100's sound bar is designed to be below the TV, not on top of it. Would you recommend either of these systems? I'm on a budget, have a 360, PS3, Wii, HD Sat reciever, and HD antenna. Should I get the CT100 or the CT500?
Any reason why you recommend the CT100 over the CT500? Is the 500 not an upgraded version, with more bells and whistles, and a higher output? I'm not a Videophile or Audiophile, which is why I'm still using a 60" Projection TV, and which is why I'm looking at budget sound bars. I'll have my PS3, my 360, and my Sat Reciever hooked up to it, and my Wii, and HD Antenna hooked up to my TV. Would it be worth the extra ~$150 to get another 150W of output and an all-in-one A/V Center?
I ended up going with a Yamaha YSP-300 and a matching Yamaha Sub. I'll get it hooked up once I get my TV back from the shop, and let you know how it sounds.
Just wanted to post an update on the Yamaha YSP-600. It's been working great on my smaller TV while I've been waiting to get my 60" Back from the shop. Everything looks and sounds great now, and if I can borrow a good camera from someone, I'll get a video of its performance up.
Michael, at 2:10 you describe the assignable RCA jacks for the mac mini "for now" but how else would you set it up in the near future for a better sound quality? I'm trying to gather more info because I'm building my mac mini media center. Thank you Michael, you're videos help me out a lot.
I think the guy has no idea about sound quality and what you need for.just compares the design... Useless outboxing clip imho

You should attach it directly to your TV instead of drilling into your wall using a Soundbar Bracket. Google Soundbar Brackets
