  • Awesome! I hope to be as good a rag player as that pianist, he kicks ass!

  • Nice! Alas, one couldn't get away with singing this song today in the country of its creation, because Americans today are hypersensitive to the racial connotations in Scott Joplin's lyrics -- especially the use of the word "coon" and the line "So many colored folks there without a razor fight, 'twas a great surprise to me." People would complain about it, despite the fact that the lyrics are suggesting the "darktown" ball actually was a pleasant and classy affair.

  • とても気に入りました!!!

    ぜひ他の曲も聴いてみたいです。

    UP待っています。

  • Please dont take this the wrong way, but its most unusual to hear a Japanese lady singing ragtime, and unless my hearing is somewhat impeded, what language was she singing in ?? The piano seemed to drown out her voice. Other wise I found it most enjoyable, and certainly different

  • Hiromi is singing in English--Scott Joplin's Sept, 1899 creation (dist. in 1902). And yes Asians & Russians love early Americana.

    First verse:

Let me see you do the "ragtime dance"...

Turn left and do the "Cake walk prance"...

Turn the other way and do the "Slow drag"

Now take your lady to the worlds fair and do the "ragtime dance."

  • Delightful!
