@mmz77 Correct. I had the base non-tach XL cluster. It is mostly plug&play. You will still have to visit the dealership to get the dome lights and alerts to work.
@trevor9671 Thanks! It has changed alot since this video, I will make an updated one soon. I bought them off of ebay for around $150. Search for FX2 or FX4 gauges. Install is easy. If you want the detailed instructions just let me know!
@TacticalGA Hi! I bought these seat covers off of ebay. They are made by a company in California called Iggeeseatcovers (Ebay seller ID: Iggeeseatcovers). They have just about any color combo you could want! I bought mine to match the colors of the truck. They do get a tad pricey. I believe my 2 seats was close to $150 and the console was $50. But you pay for the fit. Everyone SWEARS I have leather two-tone seats but in fact they just fit so good! Almost 2 years later they are holding up good.
oh I know I want to do a intake edge programmer and dual exhaust. That will wake up the truck and a brush guard. I like the fx4 gauges was that a pain to do
@992bm Not at all! The pain is to find a FX4 or FX2 cluster with your mileage (or close to it). If you don't find one with close mileage you have to go through all this paper work and send the cluster off to get the odometer mileage changed (easily close to $400). Installation is really easy. After you install it you will still have to take the truck to a dealership to get you truck information programmed into the cluster so that everything works properly (door ajar light, interior lights).
Thanks! The truck has SIDO Flowmaster Super 40 series dual exaust. It's just loud enough to sound really good, but not so loud it gets annoying. I added alot since this video so I will have to make another after I level it. Since you have a 4.6 have you looked at a cold air intake? I got a new K&N CAI off of ebay for around $250 and it really woke mine up and saved a around 1-2mpgs. It's easy to spend alot of money on these things......
Nice truck!! i was wondering where you got the fx4 guages from they look so good. i had to put seat covers on too, the littlest moisture gets on em and they stain.
Thanks! I bought them off of E-bay. If you search for them, you should find them. Look for one with the mileage close to yours or you will have to ship them off and have them reprogrammed by a private company ($300+). Most of it is plug-and-play except the dome light, door ajar alert, and the odometer and trip meter on the same screen. A quick visit to a dealer will fix that. Any other questions, let me know!
Hey man, I've got an 05 STX 4x4 as well and have been looking for seat covers everywhere. So far no luck finding any that will fit the seat because of the seatbelt built into the headrest. Could you help me out a little bit by telling me where you bought these from? I might put a walk around of my truck up here today as well, you should definately check it out.
You should definately should upload a video of yours. These seat covers actually came off of Ebay. They were a little pricey, but I wanted some exact-fit. They are made by a company in California named Iggee ( Member ID: Iggeeseatcovers). They have a ton of color combos too. So far I'm going on a year with them and they are holding up good. When/If you order them they will ask if your seabelts are built into the seat.
The 4.6 is a very solid motor. I just installed an Edge Programmer on it and couldn't be happier with the performance. It's not the fastest by far, but the 4.6 has fewer (both are great motors) issues than the 5.4. The two main issues with the 5.4: Spark plugs and cam phasers.
Yeah, you can get a STX 4x4. You can even get them with the electronic shift-on-the-fly which has the selector switch on the dash. Mine has the manual shifter in the floor which I like better. Also those little windows are actually doors. So really it's a regular cab 4 door. It basically gives you alot more storage. Thanks for watching!

Pretty kick ass truck man! I have a 2005 XL, is it possible to install the sliding rear window on one of those?

Nice. So the stock instrument cluster didn't have a tach but the stock wiring connected and with the new cluster you now have a tach correct?
