  • just cut the vid instead of throwing a comment says jump lol

  • Im pretty certain my ball python is a female,I named her Felix.Ive had her for a few years i got her for my 9th birthday.

  • I like your video. I just have one question about your female boa.

What are those pinkish brown markings on her belly?

My boa has recently developed similar marking a couple months ago. I thought it was a a very light burn so I treated it with polysporin and then switched to aloe vera. It hasn't changed yet. All I know is it looks almost similar to yours.

  • Pretty sure I named my female snake David Boa. Oh well

  • im a little late with the comment but oh well :p.........great video and helped me name my snake thanks!!!

  • what kinda of boas are they? they are really pretty!:)

  • so how can you tell if its male or female? i heard that females have one and males have two. is this correct?

  • Would this also work for a corn snake?

  • @xRainbowDashh yes, this method works very well with colubrids. but probing is the only method that is 100% accurate

  • can u do that to my dick

  • wtf o.O

  • i got a boner watching this..

  • I still cant figure out what gender my snake is after this and he (maybe she) is already like 2 years old >_>" of course mine is a corn snake so maybe they're harder to sex...pet shop people said that it's a boy, but I want to make sure so nothing bad happens in the future... :P rant rant lol anyways is there another vid for corns?

  • thanks for the video ! helped alot!

  • They are beautiful snakes^^

  • I wish i knew this before i named my female childres phython dexter haha who i think is a little large do most childrens pythons grow to 112 cm (3 feet 8 inches) becuz i read they dont grow past 80?

  • @theMUFF1NZz Haha, well I ended up with a female bearded dragon named Mr. Lizard, so don't feel too bad :-P. As far as I know, Children's pythons are normally around 2.5 ft (76 cm) when full grown, but can reach 3 ft (~91 cm) from what I've read and heard from others. But any species of animal can grow bigger than the limits we give it. Sounds like you got a comparable monster!

  • @kaleyali i think the pet shop sold me the wrong breed becuz hes still growing haha!

  • hmm can you do this with a baby?

  • @toothpick719 It's more difficult, but most of the time, yes.

  • hemi pens are two penises

  • bokeyboi407 your an idiot, and need a life

  • gorgeous red tails

  • can u say the same for balll pythons

  • @PsyrenDeathKnight Yep, about the relative tail lengths and thicknesses. But a lot of the time female ball pythons have large spurs, so that method isn't as reliable. But you'll still be able to feel the hemipenes in the males tail.

  • @kaleyali thanks :)

  • @BokeyBoi407 First of all, I have quite the scientific knowledge of snakes, as presented in this video, so I fail to see how I am dumb (who's the one using quotation marks instead of an apostrophe??). Also, how does a video about determining the gender of your pet make me a whore? I didn't suck one penis in that entire video.

You must really have no life to spend it watching videos that you aren't interested in on YouTube and posting half-hearted attempt at insults about them.

  • I have heard from professionals that spur size doesn't matter that they have seen females with just as big of spurs as males/vice versa.Popping or probing is the only true knowhow way of telling!..but it takes time and pratice!

  • @782Matty That definitely is true about the spurs - especially with pythons. With boas, it's more common for females to have almost invisible spurs. It's a general rule, but not true 100% of the time. Like I said, I'm trying to help you sex your snake without probing or popping. With techniques that can be done by anyone - unlike probing and popping, which can harm your snake if you aren't a professional.

  • in other words the male snakes have their junk in their trunk

  • hello i just bought a salmon pastel bpa it is about 3 feet long and it just has little spurs like they r really tiny does that mean it is a female thanks

  • beautiful snake! i have a little black corn snake named Zoé :)

  • ha ha. "girlie tail" nice!

  • hes HUGE!

  • does it work on jungle carpet pythons??

  • im trying to sex my 10 month old spotted python but it is proving to be harder then i thought

  • what type of snakes are those? Very nice snakes right there :)

  • @justsomerandomdudeya Thanks! They're Colombian boa constrictors

  • @kaleyali Sweet! I just have a ball python. Will they grow any bigger?

  • Does it work on corn snakes?

  • @emphilis1213 The tail length/thickness still holds true for cornsnakes. However, cornsnakes don't have spurs like boas do. So a long thick tail is a male, a short thin tail is a female, and neither have spurs :-)

  • @kaleyali Ok, thanks for the tip:)

  • kitten claw

  • why does the white oon the RTB's go yellowish beefore shedding

  • gorgeous pair of boas, and thank u for the advice,i will be checking mine once dinners been digested, lol.thank you.:):):)

  • thank u i got a female

  • first of all let me tell you that your boa's are very beautiful. i got my ball python (my first snake) about 2 months ago and she/he is very young still. can i still tell if its a male or female even though its so young?

  • @justsomerandomdudeya Thanks you :) It is possible to tell this way when they are very young, but it's more difficult since their reproductive organs aren't as developed. If you want to know for sure, see if there's a reptile specialty shop near you - they often sex reptiles for free :)

  • i have 2 redtails there maybe half a yr or 3/4 yr old i was wondering waht are spurs? lol im new at this sorry

  • @rplusc127 Haha no worries :) Spurs are the little scales on either side of their vent (where they poop :-P) that look like little cat claws. Odds are - unless you have a very young boa - that if you can't find any spurs, you've got yourself a female. :D

  • @rplusc127 Spurs are actually the remnants of hind legs, only found on Boas and Pythons which are the oldest and most primative group of snakes. Males use them during mating where they grasp and 'tickle' the female with the spurs.

  • That was great thanks alot....now for me to get and check out my red tail boa's sex.

  • wow, thanx. This has been very helpful!
