To Americans Italy's legal system is a bit shocking. In this country we require solid evidence. There is basically no solid evidence by US standards. I say this as a former defense attorney. Of course we have a lot of murder trials, so our analysis has been honed by a lot of experience.

Technically Knox isn't even guilty yet, but in the US eye witnesses have landed people on death row in short quick trials with Joe Pesci lookalike lawyers. Retesting inmate's DNA is the norm in the US in the last decade such is the incompetence of the original verdicts.

To Americans Italy's legal system is a bit shocking. In this country we require solid evidence. There is basically no solid evidence by US standards. I say this as a former defense attorney. Of course we have a lot of murder trials, so our analysis has been honed by a lot of experience.

@nickslick75 People on message boards tend to be very nasty. Your comment about my being a "loser," for one, when I've done nothing to you except apparently insult you with my opinion. I don't feel it is a lie to say she did not accuse Patrick. She did not write the statement; she signed it. And then she wrote a statement explaining that she was not at all sure of the verity of the "confession" she had signed.

The so-called confession was typed by the police --it was not in her own handwriting. You are describing the note she wrote later.

The forensics evidence is clarified by reference to court documents and not a random professor who has never actually seen the evidence pitching in for a shot at fame through this case

a dirty police trick-bring someone in as a 'witness' but treat them like a suspect this means they arent advised of there rights,have no lawyer,dont use there right to silence and generally are treated unfairly seeing as officially the police call them a witness,this happened to ak when she was quesstioned and the police lied under oath.A dirty police trick often used by police everywere,guilty or innocent,witness or suspect no ur rights and stay silent or get a lawyer
