  • is the the mk25?

  • I picked one of these up at the gun store.... and that crome bluish tint on it is just absolutely gorgeous in person.

  • What kind of grips do you have on your Sig. I dont like the Hogue Grips that I have. I really like yours.

  • @maximcan69 They are Crimson Trace laser grips.

  • Does the decocker block the firing pin as it's lowered down?

  • @4AJWP Don't believe so. It limits the travel of the hammer so that it can't hit the firing pin.

  • @limekid sounds like my fnp, so it probably has a metal block that blocks that travel, seems extremely safe in my opinion, only way to move the block is the pull the trigger, all the way to the rear, i wanna save up for this gun but do the 20 rounders for the tactical work for this?

  • I may have missed it if you mentioned it in the vid but are those standard grips or aftermarket?

    Cheers,

  • @unclesamtookmymoney They are CrimsonTrace Laser grips.

  • i wanted one but i landed up ordering the p229 anyway i figured i will never be near ocean water or any water beside rain and snow but i love that anchor on the side & the navy stamp, they should of made the p229 in a navy model too

  • @ThermalSh0ck Eh, that would take away the thing that is special about the Navy model (Now the MK25): it is the pistol the Navy SEALs use, NOT the 229.

  • Does this NAVY model have the floating pin like the standard 226?

  • @tac79phoenix The design of the pistol is exactly the same as far as I know.

  • Comment removed

  • where is the safety?

  • @MrTomafalcon It's built-in to your hand

  • @limekid Man, I can even tell by the way the trigger went back when you pulled it that the trigger had no creep to it. How would you say the trigger function is compared to say a glock or xd?

  • @autry33 It is a much different feel than the striker fired pistols. Kind of hard to explain.

  • @MrTomafalcon Haha yeah all finger man. Not to justify it not having a safety, but its a long trigger pull and if anyone carelessly fires that thing from DA, they shouldn't be holding a gun especially to set off that trigger. Haha.

  • Sig. P226 is a fine pistol, I like my platinum elite immensely. But, I'm wondering if the navy model has the short reset trigger that is so worth paying for.

  • @bigbluesparky I don't think it comes with the SRT.

  • Just an FYI, Glock didn't fail the military trials. The military wanted an external hammer with second strike capabilities, and Glock wouldn't produce the pistols in the US. I think they also wanted an external safety, but I'm not positive on that one. Actually, the Glock 19 is used buy a certain special forces group. Anyway, this Sig looks great, I am looking into getting the 226 MK25. It will be my first Sig, I sure hope it lives up to the hype.

  • @binyamj Good to know.

  • @binyamj For what it's worth, the CIA SAD guy that killed the pair of people in Pakistan used a 9mm Glock- 17 or 19 I'm not sure.

SEALS have replaced the P226 with the HK45C as of 2010.

  • @vnlk65n Where do you get your info from?

  • @limekid There is a blog post by Larry Vickers and Ken Hackathorn that goes in depth into the development of the HK45 from the USP and P2000.

  • what kind of grip you have on there? nice gun

  • I own a 226 one of the Top Pistols made. I like the 357sig cartridge.

  • It's a Sig MK 25.

  • Can't u request to have it chambered in 10mm?

  • @SuperStrangeFace No 9mm, 40 S&W also 357Sig..

  • -Sig-

Sorry iPhones tend to ruin a lot of things

  • I really wanted a beretta px4, I was in love with that gun. I rented one and I have seen, owners of that gun complaining about shooting too low... It's true and it also jammed 3 times. That was my first time shooting a gun. That same day my friend took his Glock 19, I don't like Glocks, but I shot the 19 much better.

Now I found this Sig and I love the design

Can you guys give me some feedback about the Sog 226 navy???

  • I thought the reason the 226 was not selected for armed service pistol was that sig was unable to fulfill the contract for the amount of guns required in the amount of time required by the contract-- or was that glock? was long time ago I don't remember. I have had 2 they are nice guns.

  • I'm in love with this handgun, what kind of grip is on there? Ive seen some not so sexy looking sigs, but this one tops them all. Im sold on this model!

  • can a civilian by a p226 navy or is that only a military use only by the way are you a navy seal

  • @PSP2GUY Any civilian can purchase this pistol.

No, I am not a Navy SEAL.

  • @PSP2GUY Yes you can, it has recently been released for civilian purchase. They call it the Sig Sauer MK25.

  • @PSP2GUY The P226 is legally purchasable by civilians. It's also the standard-issue pistol for several police forces in Canada because it's not prone to freezing in the cold, making it reliable and it's quite accurate as well, so it's a good weapon.

  • @PSP2GUY if he was why would he tell you?

  • I have a stupid question, do all sig P226 9mm's take the same magazines? (i.e. the navy, blackwater, tacops etc) I'm new to Sig's

  • @Volkov556 Not a stupid question at all. As long as it is a 226, it takes the same magazines.

  • @limekid Awesome thanks for the info and quick reply

  • 15+1 can't get it done. Then why bother having extra mags and mag holster. Tell that to a cop

  • @wilmerpola777 Great point.

  • @wilmerpola777 MecGar makes 18 round flush fit mags!!!!!!

  • does it scratch easy

  • @MrRubi15 No.

  • Picking this up with my tax money

  • When u talking about the M9 problem, that Beretta had solved with the FS("S" for "Safety"...) model, is that someone tested the 92F with 9MM +P round, that's the real problem, a round +P, even Glock do not recommend to use +P rounds in their guns (I own a 17).

However I have tested the "226 Navy" and I think that's the best 9MM gun!

I'm gonna buy a P245, another excellent gun in 45...

  • I have a standard 226 love it just oe problem the front sight post is loose i got to take that too an armorer again

  • here soon next year about about to pick up the p226 navy

  • Great review! Just picked up my brand new p226 Navy and love it!!!

  • @mcbarker11 Nice! They are fantastic pistols.

  • hey u did not include the sig p220 .45 auto

  • Got one used 485

  • I GONA BUY ONE JUST FOR MYSELF IN FEW DAYS 680,00 REAIS

  • I want one so badly!

  • Just purchased my first Sig p226 last night. 799.99 Cabelas. Merry Christmas to me!

  • @repentandfaith HO! HO! HO! Good pick.

  • @repentandfaith i bought my Sig P229 SAS at cabellas too lol

  • you should make more vids with this navy p226 this gun is my dream gun

  • thats chuck norris noes picker

  • Lets see your new Corvette.

  • I love the way this gun shoots! Never got a chance to fire an M9 or 92F. If you have experience with either, do you have a preference compared to the p226?

  • @eyanvenom I have some experience with the M9A1 and it is one of the smoothest pistols I have ever fired. However, the ergonomics of the Sig are far superior in my opinion.

  • Why did you go for the 9mm. I got mine in .40 S & W

  • @MiBlazed Not a big fan of the .40S&W. 9MM is very economical and works well as a defensive round as long as a good bullet is used and more importantly, the shooter does their job. I really do not like the way .40S&W shoots.

When I want something larger than a 9MM, I garb one of my .45ACP pistols.

  • those sights aren't the standard sig ones. the standard sig ones have 2 gargantuan dots in the rear and one gargantuan dot in the front.

  • @pete5668 They are indeed the standard Sig sights. However, they have transitioned to the 3 dot setup that you mention.

  • Loved the video. I a Norinco copy, NP 34 ( I live in Canada). Have a great day.

  • @lenovoR62 Thanks. Right on, you too.

  • Impressive.

  • Dont even compare a "civilian" XD to the 226. One of the worlds greatest military pistols.

  • Im 14 and like 5'7 and I love the p226 even though never shot one so I was wondering does this kick bad thats why I put my height in case the matters?

  • @USNSarDiver 9MM P226 recoil is nothing. You should be able to handle it very well.

  • @USNSarDiver It doesn't kick badly at all. 9mm is a very mild shooting cartridge on it's own. Couple that with an all metal pistol and you've got extremely minimal recoil.

  • @USNSarDiver

My gf at 5'2'' 100lbs shoots my .45ACP 1911 no problem

  • i think the xdm is the best choice for a civilian, it has a short hammer so you can get a pretty good rate of fire, high capacity, uses better quality materials, and is under $600

  • @PesarTarofi The XDM is a nice pistol for sure. Better quality materials though? Not really sure about that one.

  • @PesarTarofi As far the quality of materials, one is polymer and one is aluminum. Can't really compare them. Both work well.

  • Nice looking gun

  • Howard Wasden said he used this when he was in SEAL Team 6

and it was the best handgun hes ever shot

  • $900 sig p226

    with that $900 you can buy a glock 17, 9mm , 17+1 in the mag, and A LOT OF 9mm AMMO , like 3 magazines, laser !!!

  • @baljit147. If u.shoot.someone 15 times.and.they.dont.die...dont.run like.hell

Pull out your 1911 and..shoot him just once and watch him fall down lifeless :)

  • Got mine for $500 used at a gun show.

No visible wear, no malfunctions in 500+ rounds of cheapo that I've sent through it.

Probably the best production 9mm handgun made, just wait on a sweet deal on a used one.

  • @stratelite Great deal.

  • in california, they're $1,000 at least. i cringed but totally worth it.

  • mmmm... sexy ass gun.

  • if you shoot someone 15 times and they don't die then you should run like hell

  • Stop coughing

  • The Brit's replaced their Browning HI-Powers with the P226

  • How much did you pay for it?

  • So when you say it transitions from Double Action to Single Action and when the hammer is up do you mean you don't need to chamber a round? Because when the hammer is up there isn't a round in the chamber.

  • If you can't afford the 226 get the 2022 9mm...cost less than my Glocks did.

  • The finish looks like its wearing off.

  • @904just It may appear that way in the video but, the finish on this pistol is pretty good. It has never been inside a holster.

Of course there is wear on the barrel hood.

  • @904just if you are talking about the silver spot on the slide thats n anchor. supposed to be there

  • Those sights are standard on the 220, 226, and 229 unless you get a "premium" model such as the Equinox or Elite which have the Sig brand night sights. I have 5 sigs and the only one I have with out the standard sights are my 220 Elite Carry.

  • I carry the zastava ez9 looks close to the p229

  • Man I love those grips...

  • Hey there, just added a Navy edition 226 to the arsenal and was wondering what grips you have on the gun in the video? I haven't perused the comments to see if this question was answered. Was hoping you could drop a name, thank you sir. Enjoyed the video!

  • @TheSigtastic Crimson Trace laser grips.

Thanks for the compliment! Enjoy the new pistol.

  • I am literally drooling. I want.

  • "If you can't get it done with fifteen rounds, you probably shouldn't be shooting a gun anyways" Couldn't have said it better myself sir. Sig makes an amazing gun. I will never sell my P229

  • I love my Sig. Had the HK USP45 and was very disappointed. Finally tried the Sig and am blown away with the quality.

  • How does it compare to the Sig Pro 2022 9mm ?

  • just a note the newer Sig Sauer p226 Navy's now come with the standard 2 and 1 sight alignment

  • Great video. I was wondering if you know if the SIG conversion kits can be used on this model? I like the idea of several calibers in one gun.

  • Re: capacity. Factory 20 round mags are available. They just stick out a little.

  • is your dog panting???

  • @wel1968 Hahahaha, that's the sound of my washing machine.

  • Will older (purchased in the early 1990s) FACTORY 15 and 20 rnd mags function in a new Sig Sauer P226 varient?

  • @unicornlxi Yes.

  • Nice gun but it seems over priced.

  • does it come in 40 s&w

  • How did you sights in with you crimson laser? and is it effective.

  • Great Review! I think that this will be my second pistol. Keep the videos coming.

  • @theillest1ever Thanks for the compliment. You cannot go wrong with a 226.

  • This video helped convince me to get my own p226 navy and just as you said, was not let down. I love it, wouldn't own another gun if I had to choose. Thanks for the post!

  • @roma4593 Right on! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I'm glad you enjoy your gun!

  • That doesn't come with those grips, right?

  • @connersaurus42 Nope.

  • can you get beaver tails for this model? i seen some other models like the elite and blackwater have beavertails.

  • Can this model handle the hot 9mm +p+ rounds?

  • great review, very well detailed and great explanations

  • My 1st pistol was the M4505, a fantastic, durable, strong pistol, if a bit heavy. I now have this handgun, and it's an improvement.

  • Best pistol ever made!. The size of the frame, smooth hammer and trigger and its ergonomic design made this pistol very handy. No other piece let me do so accurate fire like this. It feels pretty comfortably to hold and the sights are easily to see. I am saving money to buy one of this, but in 40S&W. Nice investment you have made limekid!, congrats!.

  • classic m1911 best gun ever made had it for 5 years now just a suggestion take a look at the AA12 great gun :)

  • Where can you buy some?

  • @Pill88Dickle This is true.

  • Thanks for the Video. I Love the Sig Sauer P226, I Think its One of the Best Fire Arms of all Time. I just Recently got my Hand Gun License and I Currently Own a Glock 19. Another Very Good Gun in my Opinion. I Plan for my Very Next Gun though to be the Sig 226. Well, its either Between that one or the Beretta M9/92FS. I Love All 3 Guns. Meaning the Glock 19, the Beretta M9/92FS, and the Sig 226. But Most Likely it'll be the Sig. Can u do a Table Top Review/Comparison of the 3? I'd Appreciate it

  • If I were willing to spend $900 for a 9mm give me an HKP7

  • @quicktoevil May be tough to find.

  • an amazing fire arm i want one so badly after this video my Ruger sr9 was a great learning gun.

  • @Greiwulfe SR9's are awesome.

  • I just picked up a Glock 31 Generation 4 as I could not get one of these P226 Navy for less than a $1000 out the door. My brother just picked up a P226 (I don't know which model). I plan to shoot both in the next couple of weeks for comparison. I think Glock has a superior feeding platform, but that SIG will be more accurate. I will know for sure in a couple of weeks.

  • @frankgon4 Very nice! Although I haven't shot it, I think .357SIG is an awesome round. The thing I love about my Glock over this pistol and many others is a consistent trigger pull. I'm not a huge fan of DA/SA pistols.

    Keep me posted!

  • nice gun

  • The 226 is one of best handguns I know

  • @theroyalgrapefruit There are very very few guns that I would put on the same level as the 226 as far as durability, reliability and accuracy go.

  • i wonder if there is single action on m9 beretta airsoft gun :D ?

  • the finish is durable and those handguns ????

  • @Juan777fl Yes.

  • <.< mega cool its all like tactical and shit

  • ive got it with sand camo, silencer and duel mag

  • @TheCARCOON11 OH YEAH?!

  • have they made a new version of the sig p226 navy. and how much did you pay foryour s

  • @KiNgOfSuPrAs No. This isn't mine but, they usually run around $750-8xx.

  • I like the handle grips on your sig P226 what kind are they? Thank I've watched this vid several times great presentation.

  • @philly4458 They are Crimson Trace grips.

    Thanks for the compliment!

  • Nice

  • @phillybrother Thanks man.

  • Like the grips on you Sig P226 9mm. I believe you forgot to mention what seems to be a laser on the right hand side of your pistol. Thank you for a good presentation I enjoyed.

  • @philly4458 Thanks for the comment. I don't remember if I did or not but, yes, they are Crimson Trace laser grips.

  • @1:45 what pistol is the mp9?

  • @pytte98 Smith & Wesson Military and Police 9mm.

  • Very good review. Also very nice firearm.

  • Good vid.

  • i hear sigs rust easy is it true

  • @devilarcia if you know how to take care a Sig then it won't rust easily.

  • I really like your presentation. Good work. Many people who do this type of firearms presentation use inadequate lighting. Your lighting was good enough to see everything. I have a 228 which suits me just fine, and except for size and capacity, it appears the 226 and 228 have the same design.

  • the real reason that the army chose the m9, was not because it was cheaper, not because it was a superior product, but because the italian government told the US army that if they did not choose the m9, that they would not allow the US to renew thier base leases in italy. this was brought to the attention of a National Comitte while discussing why the US Coast Gaurd's weapons were soo expensive.

  • @Delta8559272 Interesting, never heard that before. Thanks for the insight.

  • @limekid ya that happened a few years back, because the budget seemed to be too big for that small branch of the military (yes USCG are still military). also in the army testing the m9 and p226 here at a dead heat between the two, so they decided to ask the testers and they almost unanamously said the p226 for ergonomics and best overall use, and thats when the italian govenment got wind of this and told them that.

  • @Delta8559272 I'm not saying you're wrong about the quid pro quo, but it just doesn't sound right. Basing rights in return for a 9mm sidearm? Nah, I don't buy it.

  • @mcsas i dunno the government has done wierder thing for weirder reasons but thats just that i heard

  • I held a P226 Navy today in my local gun shop. It was going for $830, new. I was hoping to hold the new P226 E2. The salesman said the E2s are sweet and I should at least hold out on buying a SIG until I can hold the E2 model.

  • @robcolorado Nice. I haven't had the chance to hold an E2 Sig yet... at least I don' think so. But, I believe Sig may be making the E2 grip standard on all of their pistol models. At work last week we got a standard 229 from Sig with a MUCH more ergonomic grip than normal.

  • Considering I already have a Glock and a 1911, I think a Sig is next on the list.

  • @MovieTheaterHead Yup, if you're into handguns in general, a Sig is a must have.
