Yeah, yeah. This is all fun and games. But what about the American stereotype being portrayed? Looks like someone who just went in fists swinging without a care in the world about the real situation. Sounds familiar...hmmm...
P.S. We don't sound even remotely like that lol. It's always hilarious to listen to the American stereotype of our accents because it is a creation all their own! Most of us sound like we're from the Midwest.
I've never met another Canadian in my life that wishes they were American. It seems that they think we like them and want to secretly be American......................FALSE
@bittersweetalliesaur Barny is that great at the accent he gose scotish a bit but if you wach the 1 with the "hoser hut" you might hear it, its not really full Newfee but some of the ways they certan words are
@bittersweetalliesaur Barny is that great at the accent he gose scotish a bit but if you wach the 1 with the "hoser hut" you might hear it, its not really full Newfee but some of the ways they certan words are
@unholychunk I believe that's the typical American view of the Canadian accent/dialect. I have never heard any Canadian talk like that, Even Cobie Smulders (Robin) is not talking like that. She sounds more American than Canadian. I have only heard Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from RUSH using words as 'abowt' and 'owt' but that's all.. Robin is not using those words. Because she is from Vancouver? I hear that people there sound more like the Americans than people from Ontario do.
It's so cool! ;-) But the Canadians don't sound like that.. or they do? I found out that the people in Ontario got more of that typical Canadian pronunciation than the people in British Columbia. And those Royal Mounted Police officers are typicaly seen in British Columbia aren't they? So his language should be more like the American right? Robin is from Vancouver and she sounds like an American a lot. She don't realy use that typical Canadian like Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from Rush. Or what?
@Anden14 Accents vary from region. Canadian cities share the same cosmopolitan accent that American cities do. The rural areas are much more diverse, with the most prominent being Newfoundland. I'm not sure what that accent is imitating. Sounds like the American view of a Canadian accent.
@Anden14 in most of the big cities the accent isn't much different from america. it's just certain words and phrases that are different - like when robin says "sorry" or talks in kilometers rather than in miles. it's in the smaller cities where where the accent is so strong.
