When using the swim bait hooks, it's best to give a momentary pause while the redfish inhales the bait, take up the slack line, and with a sweeping motion set the hook firmly. This should take about one second when done correctly, and will provide a solid hook set.

what kind of rod do you use, that thing bends like a Shimano trout pole but you are ocean fishing.

how do u set the hook for redfish do? do u reel into them or do u set the hook like normal?
