Other breeds have been demonized in the past. They would be considered "tough guy" breeds. So all the doucebags that figured they were tough got them and deliberately tried to make them vicious. Pitbulls are a very friendly breed to the extent that they do not make good guard dogs.

I've never met an APBT I didn't like. My first was a male that carried our kitten around in his big ole jaws you'd of thought he was it's mother. They slept and ate together. The kitten would literally climb on top of his side and go to sleep there.Believe me nothing ever bothered this cat.....I agree with you on the BSL laws. Why not make "dangerous dog laws" and go from there?. If they can ban one breed don't think for a minute they'll stop there.

The only dogs I have ever had an issue with are small dogs. Never had any issues with bigger dogs. At the end of the day it comes down to the owner.

And I'm unsure if this law applys everywhere but here in MA if you own a pure or half breed pit bull you must muzzle it when walking him/her and when you have him/her out in the yard they must be muzzled.. Pure bullshit if you ask me.. My grandfather's dog is only half but is the sweetest thing. We should muzzle the ppl that came up with that bullshit law..

There are many pitbull owners who merely love their dog as they might a child. My roommate has a Blue nose pit. Sweetest dog ever. Wags her tail so ferverently that her bum wags too. Everyone loves her and we train her in the daily routines only. Love her unconditionally. She knows how to defend herself, without being shown. And that is for survival only. You get what you give. Cats like to play rough, the dog was not acting bad at all. I actually really like pit bulls. Never had one, but I've seen they can be one of the nicest breeds around.
