There is no verifiable lineage to speak of for Bukharian jews other than that they are either Soviet runaways (originally Ashkenazis and Crimean Tatars carrying the Khazaryan yahudi torch) or simply Ozbeg pretenders who learned the customs of Mashhadi Jews and adopted them in an effort to escape to Israel (modern state). Persian Jews around Mashhad aren't the same people as Bukharian Tatars and Tajiks, the former who came from Crimea in alliance with Khazars who picked up the jewish torch but aren't truly "jews". @arimoff you should really learn your history. The Jews were settled there by Tsarists when they were at odds with the Ottomans and also when they were fleeing Bolsheviks. Many Jews came from the Crimea -19th century- to settle in there to fill the vaccum as the warlike Karachays were exiled to anatolia, and some escaped to Syria. The Tsarist plan was to create the "mountain" Jews, to collect them from north of the Azov, and resettle them to the Persian frontier.
