Pretty sure the reason the player isn't killing the monsters is because the generator will respawn them (slowly, granted) until it's bombed. There's plenty of ammo to go around, but I guess for those who like to feel efficient... I used to kill them anyway, because the sound they make when chomping you scared me so bad as a kid.
^__^ I remember playing this when I was 4, probably!! For the longest time, all I could remember about it was monsters, hallways, an old man, and feet.. Some of the monsters scared me, I remember.. It's awesome to see it again, 18 years later!!
I know the monstors take lots of hits to kill if you don't have anything other than the standard weapon, but they're far easier to kill if you get the special weapons witch are so easy to find, then the monstors can be kill quickly. So why didn't you kill them?
Baron Baldric in Mystic Towers... that was one of my favorite games....you had to turn the keyboard to control the game better.... i was always scared by these creatures.... but the music and sound effects are awesome...
omg, i remember this game! i have a cd with a bunch of games on it but it's got a password so i can't get into it lol, luckly it has a readme with all the game titles so i can look them up and see which ones i remember :)
The music adds so much atmosphere to the game, but I used to play the game with the music turned off, because I wanted to hear the background sounds, which are quite detailed for a game released in 1994.
I like the music in this game, it doesn't sound like the MIDI music typically used in these older games. OK, I know the monsters in the game take a lot of hits before they die, but I don't quite understand why you don't kill them. The first monster is easy to defeat, just jump on it. I like this game, but it's quite creepy and quite scary.
I don't quite know the reason why he played it like that and didn't kill the monsters, I can only asusme the reason why is because the take so many hits.
I remember this game! This was the only game that was too scary for me when I was six years old. Damn, now that menu theme is stuck in my head... again!
I played this occasionally a looong time ago. I always thought it was a bit eerie and creepy, tricky game. By the way, the soundtrack sounds like Mike Oldfield. It's great. =)
i had totally forgotten that this game had ever existed at any point in history, until this very moment. when i was little i played this game every day after school. man!
Dang, I only played the demo when I was a alittle kid and I loved it. I got owned at the Wizard version of the first tower. Like a few people before have mentioned, the menut theme rocked.
The music of this game is awesome, the game is very fun and creative. I especially like the 2nd level music. Would like to have the entire full version. I have a demo (shareware) version, it was one of my first games ever played. I remember i was 8. It´s an excellent game. Probes that it´s not necessary big technology, 3d or whatever to develop something fun and creative,as this game is.
Loved this game. Played it when I had my first computer. Lost the game then years later I decided to purchase the full version for $10.00. Amazing game for its time. No crazy graphics and lots of creativity. Newer games like BF2 don't have the same meaning to me. But that is me. I also am able to play this game perfectly in dosbox under Linux.
Just a note - the sequel wasn´t made by Apogee, so it´s useless to search there. I don´t even think that the developer had the rights to make the second game.
A truly great game that one, although I knew it as "The Adventures of Baron Baldric" for some reason. I can still remember the theme tune in it's entirety.

Loved this old game. It was epic frustrating when I was a kid. Even remember the platformer for Baron Baldric which was not so great.

I agree too. Maybe somebody who has the game can upload a video with just the menu theme being played on for awhile.

That was a sequel or prequel I think... and was a 2d platformer as opposed to this one.
