Mayhem doesn't stand a chance anymore at 185 or 170 in my opinion.

Even though he didn't finish him, he hunted him down the entire fight. The only other solution I have here is that he wants to close the chapter with BJ Penn first. Even though he won the first fight, I think he still feels the outcome of it favored BJ Penn so he sees them fighting again as a rubber match.

@JustScrap1996 by the time they walked into the cage, I'd put money on it being at last a 40 pound weight difference. Even tiny guys at around 145 put on about 15 pounds before a fight after the weight cut. BJ was already fighting over his natural weight, so he wouldn't be able to put on more weight as easily as lyoto would. And besides, GSP walks around at 185, he wouldn't even need to cut to fight Anderson Silva. So I still don't see why they won't put the event together.

@TheCapone13 The problem there is that 185 is closer to his natural weight, which would be healthier to cut to. He's gotten bigger over the years, and walks around closer to 185 than 170. That's another reason for me to add to the list of "Why won't this title fight happen?" opposing ideas.

I just wanna know how tall Penn really is..
Hes listed as 5'9 everywhere but I just cant buy it, I'd say 5'7-5'8, maybe a strong 5'8 for him.
At 1:20 where he and GSP are standing and staring right at each other, he's standing as tall as he can where as St Pierre's head is slightly tilted and he still looks like he's got about 2 inches on him. GSP's listed height is 5'10 and thats believable as he looks like a solid 5'10.
Either way, both amazing fighters.

GSP isn't new to fighting bigger guys either, and he adapts his gameplans to his challengers, which makes him successful. That's why I'm having a hard time seeing why they won't put GSP vs Silva together.

He's cleaned out his division for the most part, and there's not anyone I see as able to challenge him at 170 right now, and I think it would be a lot more even of a fight than most would think, yet it'd still be exciting.

@mrco74 Even now, the only one I can see even holding a candle to GSP's flame at 170 at the moment is Don Yun Kim(Stun Gun... don't know how to spell his name...) and maybe if Claude Patrick continues the domination he's doin right now, he might have a shot. I would rather see Silva vs St. Pierre though. The only way I could see this damaging his legacy is if he gets completely dominated, which I don't think would happen. Mayhem doesn't stand a chance anymore at 185 or 170 in my opinion.

Even though he didn't finish him, he hunted him down the entire fight. The only other solution I have here is that he wants to close the chapter with BJ Penn first. Even though he won the first fight, I think he still feels the outcome of it favored BJ Penn so he sees them fighting again as a rubber match.

I'd watch extremely closely, but I'd be happy with either outcome. Now if Jose Aldo miraculously moved up to 170/185, I'd root for him all day long, but those wishes never come true hahaha.

@JustScrap1996 by the time they walked into the cage, I'd put money on it being at last a 40 pound weight difference. Even tiny guys at around 145 put on about 15 pounds before a fight after the weight cut. BJ was already fighting over his natural weight, so he wouldn't be able to put on more weight as easily as lyoto would. And besides, GSP walks around at 185, he wouldn't even need to cut to fight Anderson Silva. So I still don't see why they won't put the event together.
