Of course I agree that if Aussies came to Malaysai and lived for a long time and contributed, why shoudl trhey not get citizenship? The problem is that our Immigration Department strangely makes it very difficult for even many very highly qualified foreigners to become citizens, but we find many Indonesian Malays in Malaysai with ICs who are far less educated.

Is that so hard to understand for you? When their forefathers left their homes, many of them left forever. The Chinesd had no safety net and either worked or starved to death.

Yes, a lot of Bumis being given scholarships and student loans but not all of them. Even non-bumis got schlorships and student loans. Even you are not being able to bid for government contracts without getting a bumi partner, still most of the bumis sub-contracted it to mostly Chinese.

Of course I agree that if Aussies came to Malaysai and lived for a long time and contributed, why shoudl trhey not get citizenship? The problem is that our Immigration Department strangely makes it very difficult for even many very highly qualified foreigners to become citizens, but we find many Indonesian Malays in Malaysai with ICs who are far less educated.

Racially-speaking, the Orang Asli are probably more different fromt he Malays than the Malays are from the Chinese! Let's not be obtuse - the British colonised Malaya. The Sultanates that came before, no longer ruled. Even before the British rule of the whole Peninsular and East malaysia, there was never one Malaya but there were several sultanates and some Straits Srettlemetn ruled by the British.

Don't fool yourself - no other community "helped them survive". Not the British nor the Malays. The reason whyt he Malay community as a whole was less prosperous was because they lacked this kind of focus and determination - they had so much already and did not have to work so hard. The Chinesd had no safety net and either worked or starved to death.

Grateful for not being given scholarships while almost every Malay styudent seems to be able to get scholarships or student loans? Gratewful for not being able to bid for govern,ment contracts and tenders without getting a bumi partner?

@TheOmegaevent I dont see that. Based on my experience, I saw a lot of Chinese and Indians got accepted to study at Malaysian uni except Uitm. Even now they allowed non bumis for Uitm. Yes, a lot of Bumis being given scholarships and student loans but not all of them. Even non-bumis got schlorships and student loans. Even you are not being able to bid for government contracts without getting a bumi partner, still most of the bumis sub-contracted it to mostly Chinese.

Did the Malays treated you like the Americans once did to the black people back in the days? You are lucky to live as a second class citizen and being treated well not fair, but well. @turbogade Just saying, if the 'Malays' treated me like I was an African American 'back in the days' today, something called 'human rights' would be violated. Do you know what this means? It means Amensty International, The UN and other various human rights group/movement would set their eyes on Malaysia and bring down the spotlight. Do you still see the Chinese and the Indian next to you on the Bus or the train a "FOREIGNER"? Their forefathers were brought to this country to make a living and a new ligfe for themselves.
