For Nutnfancy himself...I am going to college in Minnesota and need a good .22 to buy to take with me. How would you recomend it for a colder and snowy climate?
@ViolentKisses87 i did have a scope on, it is a silver antler tasco($30 bucks or so, but it works), but i use the open sights more because i shoot closer range for target practice so i took it off, but i do put the scope on again every once in a while(to change things up) and it is great and looks BADASS on this gun, I like it a lot
I bought one today thanks to you!! And I also picked up the Ruger SR 22! Man what a sweet gun! Now I'm ready to have fun out at the range and not spend all my money on ammo!!
I've yet to clean or lube my M&P 15-22. Bought it months ago. Probably put 700 rounds through it divided on multiple occasions. Not even a hick-up, what a wonderful rifle.
I'm really looking into getting a rifle and this caught my eye. So everyone seems to like it a lot huh? I was drawn to it's AR set up. The .22lr rifle aspect as well, since ammo is super cheap and anyone can pick it up and shoot, mainly women and kids who want to learn. Good to see it has a low failure rate too. What about unit price? Anyone know any websites with a reasonable offer?
ive had it for about 5 months and have put about 2000 rounds through it. maybe 2500. Have had 2 fail to feeds, and i think it was because when i loaded the mag the bullet wasn't at the proper upward angle. Love the gun! can punch holes through a frying pan at 100 yards lmao who knew a .22 could do such a thing?
I just shot this today also... put 500 rounds of federal bulk through it no jams what so ever. Not to mention the uncomparable accuracy with a quality optic. Great gun!
I've been looking at both the Walther made Colt/Umarex M4/.22 and the Kel-Tec SU-22 as well as this one, but this review as well as the S&W name [and the built] has me sold, can't wait to buy this and take it up for some all day plinking action. Also the price of the S&W is better than the Colt/Umarex M4/.22 ...Another great review, thanks!
@ifuersazi: today did 1.5h of shooting indoors at 25 meters. Consistent group size using CCI and Federal standard velocity was about 5cm, or 1.5 inches. So my previous claim of sub-inch groups was bullcrap. They seemed smaller - now I measured.
@werre2 as I corrected above - 4cm not 5cm. My 15-22, using std velo federal or cci, does 1.5" groups at 25".
Accuracy-wise that's probably ok. But I also own a mutant-bull-barrell-from-hell single-shot wonder that shoots one hole olympic .22LR so my perceptions are twisted.
@AverageJoe729 - Constitutionally, you have the right to bare arms. The constitution doesn't say anything about 10 round magazines. Federal and State law have zero jurisdiction over human law and the right to protect yourself however you see fit. It is, of course, what some would call illegal, to have things in your possession "the man" would rather not have you obtain, but if you dont tell anybody, who would know? Do whatever you can, whenever you can do it, as long as nobody gets hurt.
Hi there. I really enjoy your videos. Love the detailed reviews. Really appreciate it. I was wondering if you will have a chance to do a review on the ISSC MK22 Scar clone rifle. I'm about ready to get a 22 cal and did decide to go with the m&p but I just found out about the MK22. The gun does look amazing and i love the SCAR itself. Any thoughts on this? Thx
@brustbaer The ISSC MK22 Scar clone is a GSG in different clothing. So: it works, and it's hell to disassemble, clean and maintain. Really, compare the internals. It's a GSG. I own a GSG and I like it a lot despite it being my most high maintenance gun ever.
I hate nutnfancy's theatricals, find his voice unpleasing and his repeated *DATA*POINTS* most irritating. Yet I watch this video for the fifth time, not in the least because I bought a 15-22 today. Unpleasentries and incompatible chemistries aside, nutnfancy sometimes delivers. Peace.
@werre2 got a threaded plain jane version and a suppressor. Dunno if the gunsmith touched trigger too, because this baby most definitely has better trigger than its big brother (standard M&P 15).
@werre2 I used CCI Standard (black nosed) exclusively. The 15-22 did two feed failures after about 450 rounds. This was in -2 degrees Celsius. I added some lube and it ticked again.
u
So. DATA POINT. It's a very cool and well made .22, but it is a .22 so it must be cleaned and lubed somewhat. After GSG cleaning this one is a joy. You need a rag, oil, and forefinger. No chore.
Re failure to feed problems, The 22lr lead nose round has an issue where most magazines forward feed lips can't hold the front of the round at the right angle. If the magazine had too much spring pressure then it will push the front of the round past the feed lips, and too little spring pressure and it won't sit at the right angle to feed correctly. The AR 7 same issue. The copper nose rounds are more reliable as they are more resistant to diameter changes from spring feeding issues.
Stupid question: I'm a total newbie to anything to do with rails on a gun. I'm going to buy one of these MOA versions and I think I will get the Bushnell TRS-25. Does it fit directly on the top rails or do I need anything additional to mount the Bushnell red dot? It seems that something else it mounted under your scope. Thanks.
many people don't realize this, but the way to load the magazines actually play a big part in the feeding, you really have to make sure the rounds are stacked right
Just my experience but the miss feed issue seems to be related to the type of ammo used.. First time at the range I went with a friend who bought the ammo and we used ( winchester Xpert HV) 22 LR 36 grain rounds.. Out of 125 rounds we had about 4 dudds and 3 miss feeds.... Today I used the ( CCI AR Tactical) 22LR 40 grain and shot atleast 200 rounds with no miss feeds or dudds.... This S&W M&P 15-22 is a great gun and the version I have is the 811033.. Great gun and very consistant.

I have been watching TNP for months nonstop, and have come to trust Nutn's data and opinions. I bought a 15-22 MOE, and 3500 rounds later I walk away completely blown away with the reliability of this rifle. ZERO jams, FTE, or FTF with bulk federal! WHAT?!
Fantastic ergos, feeling right at home for those AR lovers. If you shoot centerfire AR-15, you owe it to yourself to check this out. Buy the MOE version and save yourself money on accessories! 10/10 review Nutnfancy!
love the 15-22! wanted to use it 4 my shtf rifle. i do got a mossburg 500 tac.for knock down at close range.and a 9mm an 45 acp. i was thinking of modding a 10/22 with a tactical stock as well wondered about your veiw on that platform.oh! and are the take down pins on the 15-22 the same as a ar15?
i was getting similar sized groups at 100 yards with the IRON SIGHTS. i was also hitting .223 shells at 25 yards 75% of my shots. sorry man, i have to say this gun is a tack driver
GREAT video as always! I have a question, is the mp15-22 lower the same as the lower for 5.56, in other words if I have the .22 can I just buy a different upper to shoot 5.56 ammo?
@jaraman9 I was looking into this also and my understanding is that you can't. The M&P15-22 is an "AR-style" rifle, not an AR that shoots 22lr. Regular AR mags do not fit into the receiver. If you want a conversion, it looks like you have to buy a regular AR and then convert it to 22, not the other way around.
@merkwier right there with ya. did you hear the lame reason for the fixed stock?... ha, they feel it is easier to conceal.... if it can be shortened or folded its easier to conceal... yeah good luck with concealing an ar15, fold-able or not... nice job attorney general.. looking out for our safety... Bull Shit!!
at the SW factory they sent it back to me still not fixed. The gun would jam every 2-3 rounds so I eventually contacted Winchester to see if they would do anything about the case rupture that added to the problems, but they never replied. I eventually took it back to Cabela's where instead of reimbursing me for the gun they made me sell it back to their gun library for a $50 dollar loss. Overall I was pretty displeased with how I was treated by all of the companies. Ruger 10/22 is your best bet.
@TheeBedazzler you must have just had a factory mishap, cuz from what i've heard (and from personal experience) they are really reliable. that's to bad about the service though :/
I commented on your Tactical .22 video about my MP 15-22 having major malfunctions. Just thought I'd warn other viewers about the problems I had with it. I bought it from Cabela's about 6 months ago and after about 50 rounds of nearly constant jams I had a case rupture and part of the bolt actually exploded and hit me in the face. I was never injured but when I went back to Cabela's to return it they declined and told me to send it back to SW. After 2 months of repairs(continued on next comment)
does anyone know if the ssar15 slide stock will work on a ar15 with the 22 conversion kit i know it will with a m&p 15-22 but idk if it will work on the ar 15 do to the wieght
Got mine in last tuesday, Kind of a disappointment. I keep getting really weird Failure to feeds due to the fact that the bullet has to be at an angle when in the magazine. Tried almost every kind of ammo out there and it happens atleast once every 3 mags. ive got 2 spare mags and they all do it. I think that the Sig 522 would be a much better bargin.
@skinnypeteODMO i like to use Remington bulk ammo, the gold ones, and just make sure the top round is angled right..ive had no failures the bast 4k rounds..might just be one of those weird things
All these .22LR AR,MP,AK 'clones', and .22 LR semi autos in general, need periodic lubrication just to function. Add to that the fact that rim fire priming will never be as reliable as center fire priming and you have something that's good for cheap recreation. I wouldn't use it for any serious self defense purpose though, although if you train with it I guess you will get some practice dealing with stoppages.
@skinnypeteODMO I'd recommend the primary arms ultimate weapon light. Costs $80, and is fantastic. It's a surefire clone, and made in China, but is still VERY high quality. I use the primary arms m3 clone on my ar (mine is in 7.62x39mm) and it's fantastic. So I decided to try out their flashlight, and I'm very happy with it. Check out their section on ar15.com and can promise you won't find a bad review of anything they make. Plus, they have fantastic CS.
@OhshitPositive Screw China. They steal everyone else's designs then produce it with cheap political prisoner gulag labor. I will happily pay more just to avoid encouraging them.
@steve001968 I can understand that. Just as soon as I get the money, I'm getting a real aimpoint. Most of this guy's stuff is made in the same factory as UTG, ut under MUCH stricter quality control. It's good stuff, but you're right, I'd rather support made in USA
This video inspired me to get a 15-22 for my birthday and I LOVE IT, I've put a good 2,000+ rounds in the one month(exactly one month today) I've had it!, Not a single jam, except I tried letting a friend use it, and the dumb ass put 6 rounds in backwards :p lol, but great gun and I'd recommend it to anyone! THANKS NUTNFANCY
I got a chance to shoot one today. This will be my next gun. I haven't been this excited to shoot in I can't remember that last time I got pumped up to shoot a gun. This one did it.
I want the S&W 15-22 u have to get the CA Version cause I'm in CA -.- but i hate it cause of the barrel there is no coolness factor to it is there a way to get a muzzle break i guess?
man, where does he come up with these awesome titles -.- "sheep in wolf's clothing" thats perfect because its a small caliber rifle in a awesome ar-15 style
@afcatm96 Weaver makes a riser set, but you could go with Burris or another. If you are not planning to co-witness then no big deal. Impact guns, optics planet, US Cav may be places to start.
One of the main contributing factors for my purchase of this rifle was this review. Excellent rifle and so far a 10 out of 10 for me. I have sent around 700 rds of Federal bulk ammo though it, and it has run flawlessly. Great video for those looking to make an informed decision.
I was thinking of either getting this or the ruger 10/22 and put an archangel stock on it. Can someone tell me a little info about either of them? Thanks
@andrademeza You dont need a bullet button on rimfires, only center fire rifles with "Evil Features" (pistol grip) need bullet buttons. Also with rimfires (.22) you can put almost anything you want minus silencers of course. Add ten rounds mags and your good to go no bullet button
@andrademeza no problem If you need more Info just google calguns they have It all broke down In very simple terms so those of us In California don't get arrested for simply enjoying our 2nd ammendment rights
@andrademeza Cool, I don't know half as much as alot of guys on there In terms of laws. By the way Im on there under this same name If ya need me for anything. later man
Can you do a review of it's bigger brother? Whatever varience is cool since they all function the same but a "sport" would be pretty awesome :) I own the 15-22 thanks to you and am looking at the 15 sport cause it's so dang cheap. I was going to wait a few years to get a 5.56 AR but seems like I can soon at $600 or so. CA compliant n' everything
I am looking for a one point sling attachment for the A1 version. I really like my Magpul ASAP. Any recommendations?

love the 15-22! wanted to use it 4 my shtf rifle. i do got a mossburg 500 tac.for knock down at close range.and a 9mm an 45 acp. i was thinking of modding a 10/22 with a tactical stock as well wondered about your veiw on that platform.oh! and are the take down pins on the 15-22 the same as a ar15?

Can you put a 556 upper on the gun?
S1lverwing 3 months ago
i was getting similar sized groups at 100 yards with the IRON SIGHTS. i was also hitting .223 shells at 25 yards 75% of my shots. sorry man, i have to say this gun is a tack driver

I just purchased the none threaded barrel on a great deal.
Where could I send it to get the barrel threaded for the muzzle break?
Thanks

@coltsglock ok, you're all set then legal-wise. (95% sure) either a gunsmith or a machinist could get the job done. around ~$200 dollars i believe

im stuck between the SW 15-22 or the sig 522 tac trainer ... which one do you suggest sir ??
harisarif 3 months ago
GREAT video as always! I have a question, is the mp15-22 lower the same as the lower for 5.56, in other words if I have the .22 can I just buy a different upper to shoot 5.56 ammo?
jaraman9 3 months ago in playlist Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 Tactical Rifle
@jaraman9 I was looking into this also and my understanding is that you can't. The M&P15-22 is an "AR-style" rifle, not an AR that shoots 22lr. Regular AR mags do not fit into the receiver. If you want a conversion, it looks like you have to buy a regular AR and then convert it to 22, not the other way around.

merkwier 3 months ago
@merkwier right there with ya. did you hear the lame reason for the fixed stock?... ha, they feel it is easier to conceal.... if it can be shortened or folded its easier to conceal... yeah good luck with concealing an ar15, fold-able or not... nice job attorney general.. looking out for our safety... Bull Shit!!

Would you choose this SW MP 15-22 over the Umarex HK 416 22 ???
Thanks,
ps on your stoppage drills, I'm sure if you removed the mag before recocking then it would clear first time...
damig104 4 months ago
at the SW factory they sent it back to me still not fixed.
TheeBedazzler 4 months ago
@TheeBedazzler you must have just had a factory mishap, cuz from what i've heard (and from personal experience) they are really reliable. that's to bad about the service though :/
merkwier 3 months ago
I commented on your Tactical .22 video about my MP 15-22 having major malfunctions. Just thought I'd warn other viewers about the problems I had with it. I bought it from Cabela's about 6 months ago and after about 50 rounds of nearly constant jams I had a case rupture and part of the bolt actually exploded and hit me in the face. I was never injured but when I went back to Cabela's to return it they declined and told me to send it back to SW. After 2 months of repairs(continued on next comment)

I dont know why people would be so concerned with a .22 jam.. they are dirty rounds, its hard to NOT have a FTF after a while.

what was the pistol at 6:50?
sfvirgo 6 months ago
Got mine in last tuesday, Kind of a disappointment. I keep getting really weird Failure to feeds due to the fact that the bullet has to be at an angle when in the magazine. Tried almost every kind of ammo out there and it happens atleast once every 3 mags. ive got 2 spare mags and they all do it. I think that the Sig 522 would be a much better bargin.
skinnypeteODMO 6 months ago
@skinnypeteODMO i like to use Remington bulk ammo, the gold ones, and just make sure the top round is angled right..ive had no failures the bast 4k rounds..might just be one of those weird things
xboxblows 5 months ago
All these .22LR AR,MP,AK 'clones', and .22 LR semi autos in general, need periodic lubrication just to function. Add to that the fact that rim fire priming will never be as reliable as center fire priming and you have something that's good for cheap recreation. I wouldn't use it for any serious self defense purpose though, although if you train with it I guess you will get some practice dealing with stoppages.

skinnypeteODMO 6 months ago
@skinnypeteODMO I'd recommend the primary arms ultimate weapon light. Costs $80, and is fantastic. It's a surefire clone, and made in China, but is still VERY high quality. I use the primary arms m3 clone on my ar (mine is in 7.62x39mm) and it's fantastic. So I decided to try out their flashlight, and I'm very happy with it. Check out their section on ar15.com and can promise you won't find a bad review of anything they make. Plus, they have fantastic CS.
OhshitPositive 6 months ago
@OhshitPositive Screw China. They steal everyone else's designs then produce it with cheap political prisoner gulag labor. I will happily pay more just to avoid encouraging them.
steve001968 6 months ago
@steve001968 I can understand that. Just as soon as I get the money, I'm getting a real aimpoint. Most of this guy's stuff is made in the same factory as UTG, ut under MUCH stricter quality control. It's good stuff, but you're right, I'd rather support made in USA

@afcatm96 He has the S&W M&P 15-22 MOE the MOE version has a Built in Single Point sling mount. From my knowledge the Regular version does not.

QUESTION: Can anyone tell me how this rifle was able to be CA compliant? what did they put a damn bullet button on it?
andrademeza 8 months ago
@andrademeza You dont need a bullet button on rimfires, only center fire rifles with "Evil Features" (pistol grip) need bullet buttons. Also with rimfires (.22) you can put almost anything you want minus silencers of course. Add ten rounds mags and your good to go no bullet button
DudeDoug2000 8 months ago
@DudeDoug2000 awesome, thanks for info, i didnt know that rimfire was exempt from that law.

@andrademeza no problem If you need more Info just google calguns they have It all broke down In very simple terms so those of us In California don't get arrested for simply enjoying our 2nd ammendment rights

My daughter loves this rifle, slapped a Primary Arms dot on it and she goes to town. Makes a good companion piece to her pistol. Thanks again....
