Blah, sorry dude, pessimism is far more truthful point of view. But it doesn't really matter, because all life is merely an illusion, more so as taken from a perspective of an individual observing the outside world (as that individual is nothing more than a reflection of world). There is life, and the "miracle of birth" but there is also "phenomenon of death" to balance it out. Life only goes through changes, nothing is permanent.
@DramatisPenzionae I kind of see what you mean, I am pretty pessimistic by nature and was writing this as a way to balance out kind of suicidal nihilism which is pointless and more an effect of unrealistic expectations than anything. I don't know if pessimism is really more truthful, the truth is that things just are how they are. Blind optimism is dumb though.
@ozjthomas Writing is in my opinion an excellent way to channel the struggle between world and that point in us from where we draw our system of values (struggl.happens in us, but originates from that system of values).
By writing, we communicate with that point in us, expressing either negatively (stress between wanting and not having) or affirming the pleasantness of holding on to (that point, memory, experience, wish, person, etc.). By unconsciously doing so, we objectifying our trauma, and...
@ozjthomas ...by objectifying it, we can change it as we grow aware and find a place in the world for it. It is then that we can release ourselves from it, release of those negative feelings to it (ourselves). But as anyone strongly driven by something that is now surpassed, one finds himself without that strong feeling and tries to search it in other places. It is a mistake to automaticly assume we can find it. The trick is to find one's freedom of affection or being affected.

Excellent poem. It's the way you play the hand that makes it what it is, not the hand you got dealt.
