I love this song. It's different from anything else on country radio at the moment. It even incorporates some of the sounds of the 1920s (i.e. fiddle, piano break). One thing which confuses me, however: it's obviously semi-topical in that it says that money is tight etc, but why would she be wanting to time-travel back to 1929 when that was the year of the Wall Street crash?. In the UK, US and other parts of the world, that time was a particularly bad time to live through.
@DavidCountryFan because before the wall street crash and the depression the 20s were some of the most virbant times of the century, people were celbrating ww1 finishing and the economy was doing well.
