  • You should have used long eye bolts and gotten up in your attic and added some 2x6s across the joists instead of screwing those small eye hooks into the 2x4 joists themselves. If done right 1 eye bolt could hold 200lbs easy. The larger the bolt the more weight it can hold. If you fall hanging upside down you could break your neck.

  • NICE NICE THANXX

  • I was wondering what brand of parachute hammock you are using? and what the measurements on it are? Just curious. I want one of these badly but I have no budget for it at all. Also how is it working for you?

  • his idea is great... i know alot about load limits and it is sufficient for someone around 225 lbs at least. remember the total load is divided by 2 when using both sides of the swing.

  • @ygavila Your not factoring in movements. Lateral movements, even slight ones will cause those eye hooks to get loose and eventually fail.

  • man i want one of these really bad.... they sell them with a frame to hang it from but they are expensiveee... hey did he attach that to the ceiling? whoever did that must weigh like 60lbs.... i would use a doorway

  • @judyluvsnoel just buy a sex swing frame

  • @EyeWearMySunglasses i don't know what that is?!!! hey that actually might work....

  • man i want one of these really bad.... they sell them with a frame to hang it from but they are expensiveee...

  • The load ratings listed on the hardware you're using are insanely low. I STRONGLY URGE anyone watching this to NOT follow this person's advice!!!!

  • @Aircat100 hence the disclaimer. I'm not advising anyone on anything. if they choose to construct something like this it is at their own risk. Thanks for your concern.

  • I got mine today. What size hooks do you use for the ceiling?

  • Where would you buy something like that?

  • @amandatampa you can find them at camping or outdoor sports type stores, or on the internet. i purchased this one off of ebay because i wanted this color, otherwise i would have bought it locally. be sure to check the weight limit before you purchase, just to be on the safe side.

  • What did you use for the swing itself? I just spent 158. :(

You should make them and sell them.

  • @amandatampa it's a "parachute hammock".
