Always good, Everso - still got all their old records. re. Oasis were always too 'poppy' and 'anthemic' to match the ethereal beauty and often (unresolved harmonies) of the earlier indie bands on 4AD and Creation - that Indie scene ended in 1992 - strange.... 20' years on, and nothing has supassed it since........
Thats why I said the telescopes were fading away, they had been around for a few years before oasis appeared. And yes you are quite right they were brilliant and still are. I think there were lots of bands better than Oasis on Creation but for some reason Oasis hit the Radio 1 button but others more talented didn't.
@Tidpole When I was younger I used to love Oasis, then started getting into the bands they were influenced by and thought to myself, these bands are way better and Oasis weren't really that good. For instance, The Real People, who they were heavily influenced by, were a much better band and should have been much bigger than they were. Like you said, there were so many better bands on Creation, for example, Ride.
Hmmm...I agree with inputmodule. I think this version sounds better than the released one. Rawer sound (maybe as the band wanted the song to be?) gives me more energy...
The Telescopes are awesome and still going strong today - my band Lillian Gish was lucky enough to support them at the Underbelly on february, as well as doing so again at the 229 in May as well as perhaps August at the Water Rats - go see them, they're as great as ever before ! [forgive the shameless self-promotion but if you would like to check us out, please do search 'lillian gish live' - bad video but good sound]

@Dangarus1 I'm with you there. Oasis weren't bad, they were just in the right place at the right time.

When I think back to this period Oasis signed to creation came huge and Telescopes faded away... I feel so sad there is no justice in this world.

@Tidpole This was before Oasis were even formed mate. You're right though, The Telescopes were brilliant.
