shanghai is not a place to visit in summer (no idea for other seasons)! just been there for the solar eclipse, and it was like living in an oven. plus, it was very humid. Shanghai is a city of towers, but they forgot to put green in the city. Full of concrete and glass. The climate is also unfavorable. you can'f cool down even under heavy rain. The only nice thing was the tower. Places to visit: The tower, and the museum, thats all. Yuyuan gardens are average.

Lived there for a year and a half and agree with the comment about rough in the summer and in the winter because there is no central air conditioning. But it's a crazy place that all should explore before it changes too fast. Oops, it's probably already too late! :)

shanghai is not a place to visit in summer (no idea for other seasons)! just been there for the solar eclipse, and it was like living in an oven. plus, it was very humid. Shanghai is a city of towers, but they forgot to put green in the city. Full of concrete and glass. The climate is also unfavorable. you can'f cool down even under heavy rain. The only nice thing was the tower. Places to visit: The tower, and the museum, thats all. Yuyuan gardens are average.
Beijing and Xi'an are much better.

well, i think Shanghai would be the greatest,...or at least the "most interesting" city in all of asia, maybe in all of the world except for the sad fact of its air and water pollution. The air is really bad compared to american cities. Feel bad for some of the people on Shangahi becuz they're gonna have some lung diseases from the bad air. The Bund is nice though.
