hi chad.....this is michael....not jeff. thank you very much!!!! I'll be more than happy to restore anything you have!!!! i love doing it! So send them on!!!!!!!! I'm doing well thanks. I hope that you are doing good as well. Hope to talk soon! take care!
Thank you "baby Jane" aka...Jack. It was a job to restore this but I'm so excited that its done! It turned out great. I do have before and after pics of the restoration. I'll email them to you.
Funny thing is though, I think I have a Belt for one of these, as in my Bag of Hoover Parts, I have a real Skinny Hoover Belt, that I bet would fit this Baby, or at least another like it I'm sure, but I dunno...?
BTW Jeff, is that LOVELY Convertible on the very end I see, a Hoover Convertible Model 35, as I just got one Saturday myself...? ;)
YAY, GREAT I just KNEW it was a 35, I mean, it's kinda HARD to miss that Color you know, lol! I LOVE my 35, but is yours the same as mine, in that although it looks like an early 60's Model, it has the two-Speed Switch on the opposite side, like the 70's Model's and the Original Cord doesn't say Hoover on the Plug, like the first few Years of the Convertible???? Mine is ALL Original as I'm sure yours is and I noticed those things about it, which seemed kinda strange to me, so...?
my model 35 is all original, and its been around for a long time. I rescued it from the trash, over in Elk Grove Village, on Woodcrest Lane. I no longer remember the exact date, but it was October of 1983, and I found it on a Sunday night...ahhh those were good days!
I did have to re-Paint the Handle Bolts White on mine and the Original White Bag Spring is a little stretched, but other then that, it's just like yours and I'll make a Video of it ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Oh and you got your Model 35 EXACTLY 1 Year after I was Born, in fact, my 26th Birthday is this Month, on the 30th... ;)
No, this one does actually have a Brush-Roll, although I don't think it's anything like what my Convertible's have, in fact, I believe it's all just Bristles spaced out, sorta something like what those Stick Vacuums with Brush-Rolls of today have, if you know what I mean, but I could be wrong, as I don't own one of these BEAUTIFUL Machines, WISH I did though... ;)
Where can I buy a cloth cord for old hoover vacuums like that?

Lovely cleaner! Congrats, Michael, on another great restoration :)

Is this a strait suction vacuum?
savagebasher1 3 years ago
no sir it is not, it is a revolving brush cleaner
hoover1060 3 years ago
sure doesnt sound like it has a beater bar
genmac1 3 years ago
Thats because it does not have the correct belt on it, hence the brush roll is barely turning. Once we get the right belt, it will be fine
