The more of Bas' videos I watch I see the guys using palm heals, so I have to assume that those particular fights didn't allow punching or at least punching to the face.

Slapping isn't more powerful than punching because they utilize the same muscles, limbs and motion which make them actually as effective at best, but not more powerful or effective.

the use the same limbs and muscles but the motion is way different... if you slap the movement develops momentum which makes the impact more stronger than a fist punch for example...see this vid at 0:05 is a good example for a nice slap

a slap is never as powerful as a punch with the fist. you make a wiho effect so its hurts more buts its just some shallow pain. you cant generate enough force for a knockout with a slap. a fist is always more powerful than a slap.
