I differ with you on only one point. I not only hate the christ-psychosis disease, I also hate those infected with it. This is a disease that everyone has control over to stop, yet they have no desire to stop the disease within themselves, they choose to spread the infection to others.

In all other diseases I am as altuistically compassionate as you are... but not christ-psychosis..no. This one is self inflicted and they are hurting others, especially children and I hate them.

I grew up in a secular household, befriending people of all different delusions from a young age, whereby I developed a deistic belief, but as I gained knowledge, the illogical faded. It's hard to explain the comfort I get from scientific research and having no reason to believe in anything supernatural. I have no respect for adults advocating these fictitious, irrational belief systems, who turn the other cheek when they have a plethora of information about the world at they're fingertips.

Yes, we all NEED fairy tales of ALL KINDS when growing up. They ANSWER everything giving us comfort. If we KEEP THEM when we grow older this is indicative of a psychosis or neurological delay.

I know what you mean by how hard it is to explain the comfort. Scientific research itself is a bit hard to take in at first glance, because it requires the thinker to accept the facts that

@thejonesbunch I agree with calpurnpiso, but depending on the depth of indoctrination, aside from developing his scientific knowledge, you should expose him to world cultures and how different civilizations developed separate belief systems-eventually he will realize that all faiths are equally unfounded. If, however, the creation myth was a critical aspect to the beliefs he has developed, you should jump right into evolutionary biology. The idea is to have him questioning everything around him.
