During the war it was seen as a slap in the face to the soldiers at the front to have a superhero go in and beat up the enemy they were fighting and end the war in a matter of hours, hence the reason there are no stories from World War II showing Superman and Batman beating up soldiers from the Wermarcht, SS, and IJA, or sinking IJN warships however there is a pre-1941 story showing Superman ousting both Hitler and Stalin from power and taking them to the League of Nations
So why is there 3 or more cartoons showing Superman fighting the Japanese and the Germans. Marvel Comics had their heroes (like Captain America and the Submariner) fighting the Germans and the Japanese all the time.
They were either sabatoging war industry or taking out Special Operations forces, Spy Rings and Sabatuers, not once during the war was a Superhero (yes this goes for Cap as well) ever sent to the front to fight along side the men in the trenches
It was okay for Superheroes to cripple the enemy's industrial and homeland military might. However at the time the covers may have showed superheroes crushing the Japanese Empire and the Third Reich but the stories themselves never touched on the war except in passing refrences or unless it was altered , ex. a Captain Marvel comic spelled Nazi as Gnatzi. Part of the reson was that publishers didn't want kids to go "But Superman defeated the Nazis why is the war still going on?"
So it's okay for Captain America to run around fighting Nazis, but not Superman?
Superman, early old school Superman, was always kick of a dick. He's just a dick for JUSTICE!

This episode leads to questions like :
1)Why wasnt there a superhero for Japan or USSR or WWII Germany?
2)Or how and why could these nations go into war against a country with superheros having greater power, than any weapon they possesed?
3) What moral superiority does USA have over his opponents with its ego-fascist heros lacking any respect for their enemies?
Eleventh hour is crap. Superman doesnt fight just in the name of democracy, against nations, but fights against human stupidity...

@nutsaboutclara
I can't agree with that at all. What better use for a Super Hero than to destroy an enemy that attacked America?
