I agree with you on the fact that you should go by what Jesus says but I don't agee with the fact that you say that Christians are being "close minded" beause some of them think that they have the only way to salvation because all religions are like that. All religions believe they have the only way to Jesus or the only way to salvation
I like the approach of making it either an acceptance or not of Jesus' authority rather than a religion. He kept his disciples busy preaching about the kingdom of God moreso than teaching about himself.
