Best game of all time! Period. MGS2 was the most fun for me but this was the best. Kojima put a lot of fan service in this like going back to Shadow Moses and using MGS1 face camo. I don't care what other games come out MGS4 will always be #1

Truly one of the greatest games ever. Some people dislike I say in order to truly understand this game you must have beaten and understand the other 3 games to fully love this game and respect Snake even through he isn't real you can make a connection if you play the others it is game no franchise that will always be rememberd rest easy snake you've earnd it;) and yes I did cry after I beat it I'm 16 years old and I've been with MGS since the PS1

Best game ever made and no console game has topped the graphics yet... no even Uncharted 2... this game is awesome for all the obvious reasons but what about them little things that everyone notices but never talks about... Like the perfect controls, the tons of actions that can be done with very little buttons, the awesome little PS3 controller Snake holds while using the Mk II, the awesome weapon customization system with fully 3D gun/item models during gameplay. I could go on for a while...

I thought MGS4 was about 9.6/10. Awesome cutscenes, the rex vs ray battle was one of the greatest I've ever played, just wish ray wasn't so weak. Also why didn't snake just kill liquid ocelot with metal gear? Instead he breaks his arm when stopping rex to kill him with his assault rifle. Retarded. also act 3 wasn't that fun following the resistance and putting guards to sleep. Other than that, an unforgettable game and one of the best games I have ever played.

also if you dont know the backstory, theres a thing called the Metal Gear Database available for free on the playstation network store. it tells you everything you need to know

Definately not a ten even though the part where you control REX is probably the best gaming moment ever. The fact that you can't climb high ledges or sprint is stupid since I can do that shit and Snake is supposed to be super elite guy. I'd say 9/10. Also maybe too long cinematics but that is just my opinion.

I did, i had never play a any of the others and i loved MGS4, was my favorite game on PS3 for a while, it also made me go out and buy the other games, you may find yourself a little confused story-wise like i was but it's nothing too bad, i was able to piece together bits of what happened to have a general idea of the story.

Very awesome game. I didn't like the bosses as much as I did in mgs3 though...the boss' squad were pretty much the most epic set of bosses there are, ever. Still this game tied the whole story together, with all the loose ends explained. Very satisfied!

I think a live action Metal Gear movie will be a guaranteed fail. I can't understand why even the biggest MGS fans want a live action movie. Think of it this way, the game itself is sooo in depth with story and cinematic in nature that it's practically an interactive movie. Only options any director could have is 1.Try to re-create what the game has already laid out (stupid idea),2.Make their own story/plot and anger fans,3.Make-up some back-story to the franchise.

He was about to kill himself, but the original snake (big boss) decided to show up at the last possible minute and convinced snake that life was worth living, even the little time he had left.

It focuses on stuff that happens in all 3,but it's the continuation of 1 and 2, while 3 is sort of a background story (though still part of the canon). If you're worried about missing things you should download the metal gear solid database of PSN to find out what happened. That's what I did, as I have only played this one and the fist (MGS).
