i have 2 males and like 7 females but tiger and spotter don't fight and there is alot of territory probly they don't fight cuz they diff species

Ipodsalltheway: Your a retard! If you think Oscars are the biggest pussies you never had fish and you probably spend all your time on youtube cuz you have no life. I put a baby Oscar witch was only 2 inches, (witch I still have), in my tank and he beat up every fish that was bigger than him, my venustus, my blue ahli, my convict and my firemouth. And on top of that oscars are the most itelligent cichlid. Why dont you go buy an oscar and find out for youself.

In the South Florida cannals, Oscars live & feed with Large Mouth Bass & the Bad Ass Peacock Bass( S.A. Cichlid) & they all slam bass baits. I live In S. Fla. I have caught Oscars on large bass baits. ( Put a Bass in your tank (don't) & all your fish will be eaten). Oscars will thrive in a big tank w/ S.A. Cichlids. And Yes, Peacock Bass are a Cichlid & Large Mouth Bass are actcally a Sunfish.

You don't put 2 males of the venustus in your aquarium.

It doesnt matter if you have a aquarium of 1000 litres or 2000 litres 2 males always fight.

not really, the aquarium size does matter. believe me wen i say tht, i keep venustus. also, i work at a petstore where we breed venustus.

But it is always when a male venustus wants to para with a female and there is a other male then they will always fight somtimes till dead;)

Yes you´re right i have 2 females with my male.

i see you work in a pet shop in the stores they are sorted with many in a small aquarium.

With no territory in the aquarium the don´t need to fight but if you have territory´s like in this aquarium you can´t use 2 males

this tank is very small ..venustus needs alot of space..if the tank would have at least 500 litres, fighting like this is very rare...
