I love ATR, but I don't think has the brutal proficiency as claimed. Maybe its just me, but this kinda felt like a "Radio" album. Its got some kick ass songs but the solos are kinda short and their new drummer has great feet, and I'm not dissin' the guy, I just wish he would have done more work with his hands.

If you're referring to Tim Yeung, its not like he did much work for ATR. Most notably would be the song "The Weak Willed" from their "Fall of Ideals" album. He's an amazing drummer, but too death metal for this band.

That's one thing you have to appreciate about ATR; they are diverse in so many ways, yet everyones different influences come out in harmony w/ each other. They've searched long & hard for a complete group dynamic like they have now. I've been listening to them since the beginning, & it just keeps getting better.

Exact same reason i love the band Soilwork. Like this band the singer on every CD does something new. Thier voices have an amazing range. They can actually scream a mealody and sing better than any boyband ive ever heard

yjr guy didnt stop singing nor did he abandon it. The song is recorded twice...pay close attention to his singing and you can hear he is screaming the lyics as well but his singing the focal point of the song. He has said numerous times that they try to change very CD and they do. They have yet to have stay the same through 4 CDs now. Sure there are some songs that are alike..like Fpcus Shall Not Fail=Become The Catalyst=Before The Damned

I can't believe they dropped the screaming. He wasn't a great singer in the first place but he had amazing screams. Now it's just guitar riffs and him singing badly into a mic.

It's not hard to think that a band gets worse in someone's opinion as they progress and generally become more generic. Most bands do it. I just think that the screaming is why I generally liked them. I thought it was versatile and worked well with the melodic metal. Now, he's just normal singing and not very well. Anyone can sing well with studio effects, but live, frankly, he's crap.

but i haven't heard all of their new album so i do have to disagree that they are becoming more generic. Chiron and Overcome, just sound ifferent, not bad, just different. I will stil say that The Fall of Ideals has still been their best album so far.

And it's inevitable that bands change, the band goes through more experiences and hence the band changes. If the band didn't change well, that would be the real shame. personally I think that Disturbed's album 10 Thousand
